Phil Hernon Trainer/Teacher/Coach

I have competed most of my life in one thing or another. When I was young it was everything football, wrestling, baseball, basketball, track and field. I was pretty good too. Always a starter, high scorer, sub 11 sec 100 meters in high school, threw discus over 170+ feet, 4.5 40 meters, and nearly undefeated wrestler for 2 years except for being dominated by the state champ badly.
But basically: I have never been the best at anything> Despite my huge efforts, I'd try like hell, obsess work endlessly. Blood sweat and tears for real. And basically I could never achieve being number 1 at anything.
Such is the case for most of us. I have had many influential coaches, teachers, trainers along the way. Great people who've helped me grow, learn and become what I am today.
Phil Hernon is on my list. I signed up with Phil earlier in the year and I could not be more pleased what I got. For anyone who is considering using Phil, I strongly encourage you to do it. It was perhaps the best $250 I have ever invested in all my years of athletic pursuits.
Phil has his own style. He is not easy. The best teachers and coaches never are. He will make you figure it out. You will come away knowing much more about yourself. Phil will make you find your own answers and you will learn more about yourself along the way.

Hey Congrats on your win and I agree with you about Phil he has been a teacher/mentor to many of us. I have to say though from getting to know you a little I think you are the best at many of the important things in life and that is what really matters my friend.

I can only agree with your statements regarding Phil...as I have done the same about 5 wks ago, and the change in training/diet etc. isn't easy...but as you shared you end up learning so much about yourself and as Phil has shared...that is the key and it isn't an overnight learning curve.

You got it Ironraider. It is learning about what works for you. We are all different. So learning what works best for you, and learning to recognize when and what is workiing is key.
We all need to be our own best trainers.

If you think you have learned a lot about yourself in 5 weeks wait till you have been working with him for over a year and a half...not only do i look completely different in the mirror my outlook on everything has been the real significant change.

Knucklehead, Congrats on your win. I saw your beautiful wife and you in the Pics thread and you both look great. Perfect for each other and committment and both share the common goal, look great and feel great type of couple.

I agree with you guys that have worked with Phil...I too learned so much....funny, thing....for me it was easy....Easy because I knew nothing else...I think when you've tried different methods, different diets, and read many different ways on how to grow, loose, lean out....it may be confusing and difficult to change your mind set.

But I do think its ok to try different methods, until you find what works for you, but once you make a decision, you can't change mid-way, you should see it through.
