I know many people drink coffee beofore working out etc. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on this? I have done it in the past when out of my thermos but on a regular basis say in the morning on a empty stom. when doing cardio? Or even before a workout? What do you use for a xtra spike to get you going? Anyone else feel free to elaborate as well.

I am one who liked the gittery, wirey feeling of the old effedra eca's so this is why i am asking. I know i can still access em but just curious as to what the rest of you are using now. Other then manking your own eca with effedrine I dont get the same effect this way.

I read a study one time, not sure the specific name etc., but I remember reading that 3 cups of coffee pre-workout helps you burn fat at a significantly elevated level. Personally I really don't drink coffee because I get that nervous jittery feeling. I prefer green tea or mate' instead because you get the benefits of antioxidants while only a little caffeine, in the case of mate' mateine (a similare molecule to caffeine). I used to love stacker 2's and they made me jittery as well, but you get used to it after about a week or so. They helped me get down to 5.5% two summer's ago without dieting and I preserved all my muscle, no change in weight. Damn the FDA...lol.

great supplement for dieting, i hate cwaufee(east coasters) with the passion id rather drink doo doo. Caffiene nice little supplement puts the huma body into a fatty acid transition and utilizes that and indirectly spares glycogen in the process. How ever ya get, do what u will but I hate coffee while others swear by it. Oh and huge u gotta start training b4 u u worry bout stimulants

lol.. I just left the gym fool.. was there at 9am sharp...lol saw Tennessee Tims girl working and lil Dan training that gal hes always.. training... oh and lets not foget about Marks big black ass..lol i even hit the treadmill today for 30 mins.. come on now..

Personally because of issues with high blood pressue while on I try to avoid coffee all the time, even when not on, but it definitly will give you an energy boost and help aide to keep you gonig longer on the cardio.. if your in good health according to recent check up It may be a good idea...

does coffee have anything in it that would make you not want to drink it before lifting or cardio?

Personal preference

There is nothing in coffee that is gonna hurt you. It does help you get going in the moring before cardio. I believe it's a personal preference. Some people like it , some people don't. Now don't go loading your coffee with creamer and sugar like some starbucks foo foo mix. Good ol fashion black is the way to go...

Coffee is unreal love the taste and grew up running a coffee/Cigar house with my big brother who owned it ,, i would slam a cappy with carmel or vanilla and smoke the finest cigars it was awesome just watching the hours role by puffing on a nice macanudo portifino ,, anyways lol yea i love coffee and when ever im dieting hard i add it into the mix it works so well as a dieretic and helps boost my energy levels ,,,,, but recently ive been taking caffeine tabs 200mgs daily b4 workout and it seems to do the exact same thing but with no bloaded feelling from coffee,,tabs are the way to go.

I sometimes drink coffee about an hour before the gym but only after I
eat something. If I train on just a stomach full of coffee I'll "crash" about
30 minutes into my workout. Also some types of coffee can cause stomach
irritation due to a high amount of acid.
 
Only negative effect i can think of is its got a diuretic effect that comes with it. Im sure everyone on here can support and say they sweat more when taking a good dose of caffein. I mean its not gonna dehydrate you but you will be less hydrated than without it. I think the benefits of caffein heavily outweigh that tho.
 
coffee messes with my stomach. I'd just take caf. pills instead.

Coffee stains your teathe too. so you have to have them whitened all the time if you drink lots of coffee.
