plague build-up

My doctor just told me to get off vitamin k2 a few days ago. Told me to get off baby aspirin as well. Krill and fish oil she thought were good. This was in reply to me listing out my daily supplements.

This is vague. From what you have written...what she said means virtually nothing. How do you know that she knows best unless she's really bringing some heavy hitting evidence and reasoning for you to not use those? IMO, you want to be taking something that prevents coagulation of platelets.

I agree. That's why I am not taking her advice. I was merely just commenting as people were talking about vitk2 and she was quite adamant. Well it was a little vague as we were rushed for time. This came near the end of the appointment and in the UK they like to keep things short due to waiting lists. All she said was about the plaque and that it could be bad for my heart in the long run. So no hard hitting evidence.

Regarding aspirin she said it was an outdated method and no one should be using it for heart protection. As you know the research says different but I may still drop aspirin as my blood is like water :eek: I eat a lot of foods with salicylate (berries, avocados, chillis etc). I also take curcumin, garlic, ginger, bromelain, fish/krill and all can thin the blood. So I am definitely dropping at least one from that list as I have noticed it's too thin recently.

I won't be dropping vit k for the reason you posted. If the test for me wasn't so expensive I would get it tested as I am curious what my levels are but it costs a lot over here.

Interesting to note that he recommends 45-90mcg per day so that only means 2-3 whole eggs per day would be fine rather than taking a supplement? How much is generally in the supplements you buy per tab?
