Podcast with Chad Nicholls- Tell All

Really good listen and subscribed! Crazy hearing everything he has been through with his own health, scary stuff!

Training talk is very interesting with the guys who have been around for this long!

Also, I’m glad he acknowledged that the other divisions are likely pulling away from the “talent pool” of top open bodybuilders, I 100% agree this is where many the top real genetically gifted guys went.

lol
crazy that he says 18ius were considered a very high dose back then but now you have a lot of guys even on this board doing that on the regular.

also the generic vs pharma part was pretty interesting.
There are some people on social media saying hes lying, but he has zero reason to lie...especially now. and I worked with him myself

I personally have seen what some people are doing and its insane. One guy last year was on 30iu GH with increlex. Some guys injecting entire genotropin pens. Its gotten pretty wild...

Bodybuilding is the one sport where people think doses are related closely to performance outcomes. It’s kind of funny. The steroid era in baseball didn’t have 3 guys on every team throwing 100+mph. Football, basketball, etc. The only time you see a difference is when someone is totally clean vs someone competing on drugs.

People are somehow delusional when it comes to growing muscle… yet this generation has the most access to drugs in history, and the fewest number of huge dudes (per capita) ever.

Genetics are king. Marry them with food, drugs, and training… and you have a monster.

In my teens and 20’s, most gyms I trained at had a least a few “Holy shit!” big guys. It was way easier to find guys who looked like they were mega dosing. Today? I rarely see anyone around here as big as I am… and I’m not huge by competitor standards.

Guys used to train harder, sweat harder, eat more, eat consistently, and take whatever drugs they could get, which wasn’t a ton.

The culture is just centered around drugs now. There are kids at my gym who are on drugs that wouldn’t be accused of lifting if they wore a tshirt out in public.

Funny thing is, nobody wants to hear it. Nobody wants to believe it. It’s a purposeful denial.

People accept they won’t turn into Michael Jordan, Herschel Walker, or Nolan Ryan… yet the Olympians are only there because they have enough balls to mega dose? It just doesn’t make sense. Lol

Dave I could not agree more!!!!! Its just unfortunate when guys who have a long time of experience and built quality physiques themselves, get called liars when saying this. You are so on point here.

Great post been saying the same myself for a while regarding the genetics!!

'Oh I can't be a basketball player I'm too short!'

But in the next sentence

'Oh I could like Ronnie if I took all the gear he did'

Combine the lack of genetics with a lack of discipline, work ethic, consistency, commitment etc and all the drugs in the world will do fook all

I didn’t watch the podcast yet, but I have to it’s a must-watch for me.
I do it tomorrow, I just didn’t have time before.

But about those 36 IU of GH per day it makes me laugh when people say they don’t believe it.
I personally know a few German guys who actually do that, so the Chad was 100% telling the truth.

What really makes me laugh is when I see some pros in podcasts saying they use 6–8 IU of GH.
Come on, that’s a joke. Nobody counts it like that.
The truth is every real bodybuilder who I know just takes a full vial a day.
The ones with less money take one vial (around 10 IU).
The ones with more money take two vials. And some even take three.

Nobody is playing with 4, 6, or 8 IU they just take 1, 2, or 3 vials, depending on what they can afford.
That’s the truth. Let’s not pretend otherwise.
Especially in the pro league everyone pushes to the limit.
The level is crazy high, competitors are freaks, and you really have to push everything if you want to stay competitive.

If you don’t, you just have to accept that you won’t be winning.

Bodybuilding also attracts more insecure people than other sports, no surprise they'll argue more about drug usage and talent

You only need to play a sport or two growing up to realize how much people aren't created equally

That is sad, but on the flip side you have people like that dumb ass Lee priest talkin about 200mg deca a week and maybe a couple winny shots to get ready for a comp or Eddie Abbew that absolute muppet.. there is alot of lying ass former pro´s so i get why people are callin people out, instead of lying out their ass they just shouldnt say anything that muddies the waters :) i love when we have former pro´s telling it like it is and talkin about dumb ass shit they did to know where the limit is, John Meadows even talked several times about doing stupid drug related shit.

Well Levrone only trained for 20 minutes out of the year to get ready for the O

Great podcast @IFBBProDomCardone
I'm biased, but it was good to heard about "the old days" and grinding hard, harder than you think you are and how important that is. This is still spoken of, but does not get the full attention it needs.

Training hard is deff something i think is "missing" today, could just be because im an old fart and biased, but i love pushing hard in the gym.

Even if it's not 'optimal' I wouldn't have it any other way!!!! It's fun and I love it!!!!

Going into my last week of prep now and backing off the intensity makes me realise how much I just love destroying myself in the gym and leaving nothing on the table!!!

I'm at work today ,no bosses around (we call that a sucker free Sunday lol) I've had my headphones on and this was one of the best podcast I've came across. Always really liked and respected Chad. Really enjoyed it, great job Dom!

Chad mentioned writing this article so I had to look it up and check it out

Finally was able to watch it all the way through. We talk about the word transparency on here, but I think what Chad did a good job of here was talking about the “reality” of bodybuilding. Good and bad. Great interview.

And if I’m ever seeing hotdogs on my ceiling I’m calling 911 for sure. 😂 Talk about a terrible set of events. Glad he’s on the other side of it all.
