I have been doing Wrist Curls and Regular Wrist curls almost 5 days a week now and they are really starting to grow, now I would assume at some point I would need to treat them like any other muscle and give them rest, what do you guys typically do extra forearm growth. I have nice decent sized ones now, but just trying to increase them in size like the rest of me.

Please no Porn Jokes, :)

You do 'em five days a freakin' week? I'm surprised you haven't overtrained already. Anyways the things that pack the most meat on my forearms are reverse cable curls (you're thinking ugh, cables, but trust me), reverse preachers, hammer curls, pinwheel curls and wrist roller. Not like heavy deads, rack pulls and other heavy back work didn't have anything to do with it.

I've heard that forearms and calves are a much denser muscle and can be worked frequently without over-training. With most people, I think it's more about not forgeting to work these muscles directly - they are a secondary muscles in so many things we already work.

i was a baker for 20 years....i got some pretty good forarms doing that...i found that working them 1 x a week and dropping the wrist wraps is all it takes ..either you'll have them or you won't...i really think that forarms are one of those bodyparts that you have or don't.like calves...

I agree with that. The guys I know with the biggest, freakiest forearms claim they never worked them a day in their lives. Tom Prince says the same about his, so does Dorian. I've got some pretty decent sized ones but damnit I had to put in my time for mine :(

xcel do you feel the same way about abs? I've always treated calves/forearms/abs just like any other muscle group.

Abs and obliques
I feel that these can be "worked" ED but not with any weights. They should be high reps or extended periods of static contraction (which is what I do). I do believe this type of workouts tends to burn BF in these areas as fuel needed to perform the function. Doing these exercises with weights will increase muscle size, which a bb'er does not want. I know that over the years from doing heavy squats, my waist has gotten much larger. I believe this is the body's way of compensating for the load placed on it - as abs/midsection is an extremely important stabilizer for this exercise.

Which reminds me - I need to start doing abs and obliques again!
