So, I competed in my first show last weekend. I came in with the best package I could have. Very happy with the way I looked on stage.

Now, I'm having some issues.

- water retention. I'm holding a ton of water.

- desire to train as hard as I can even though I'm feeling tired and beat up. I want to push my physique to the next level and train to my fullest abilities but my body feels very weak and beaten down.

- intense sugar cravings. I have been craving sugar like never before. I haven't really been giving in as I want my body to be as good as it can be and I have lofty goals for the year.

Anybody willing to offer any advice as to what to do or how to deal with the post show confusion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

All of this is normal. Take some time off and recharge your batteries.

Give into some of your cravings. You deserve it. You can always do alittle cardio too.

Some sugar won't do anything more than top up glycogen at the moment. Have s little binge but don't let it be more than a day. Your do no harm a week off will recharge you nicely too.

Take some time off training. At least 1-2 weeks up to a month
Eat good food on top of whatever you are craving - like a normal person
Get off all harsh precontest drugs, stay just on trt and some hgh or come off and fo pct
You will feel totally different after you will do this, I did something similar just recently and can not wait to get back to the gym next Mon and destroy legs, which I have not trained more than a month...

For the water retention issue, did you use any diuretics? Continue your cardio and drink lots of fluids to keep flushing the water out. You could consider some dandelion root, a natural diuretic to help flush it faster. But should go away fairly soon.

Training, hell yeah your body is beat up, listen to it. You just punished it for however many week you cannot expect it to bounce right back into training mode. Take at least a week off until you feel ok, then ease back into it.

Sugar cravings, this is totally natural. Endulge a bit here and there dont fight it. You wont get fat. Stick to your diet but slowly add in carbs and include a few small cheats per day to keep your sanity now that its over. Its a delicate time and easy to expolde these few weeks after a contest. I try to stay within 5-8lbs from my contest weight for 2-4 weeks after the show and thats when my body seems to have normalized. Then I was able to add more carbs into my diet and eat more.

If you want to reach your goals first you need to rest and recover first, or you risk injury and burnout and lessen chances of making progress.

would you double your normal water intake to help with bloat? or is that a little much?

Yesterday I added in a bunch of extra water and lost about 6lbs overnight so it's obviously helping

Thanks for the advice guys
