OK... lets hear it. How many of you look at a members post count to determine accurate and legitimate feedback and comments? Does one need over a thousand post to be accepted and respected here? What about humor? Does anyone have or possess that quality anymore? Last but not least, why does my signature cause me to be labeled as a smartass...


I feel hurt and very disappointed that many members may be viewed this way.

I did when I first signed up with this board until one member proved to all not to assume anything by post count.

As far as humor goes, there are some who have a gift of conveying their 'tone' or a specific sense via typed words on a screen. Others are sorely lacking in both expressing and recognizing humor. A wise man once said:'The tragedy of individual existence is the essence of comedy'. So an intelligent person could view your entire post as pure comedy due to the fact that it could be interpreted on numerous levels as a criticism of society in general or a lament for the current state of mankind. (which is in actuality even funnier cuz this is a muscle board and I only have 51 posts) HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Haha....As some presume and jump to conclusions as well. I'd be careful not to underestimate the power of the two digit postman. Like Techy said, it can come back to haunt individuals. It seems to be that when individuals become four digit postmen, they forget to not bring their ego into these boards. They forget that some peeps may be members of other boards, or forget how to take a joke or be civilized while engaged in a conversation. The feeling of 'power' engulfs their body like they got struck by lightning or something. Well anyway, lets see who else has a logical opinion on this. I'm sure we'll see a couple of smart ones in here soon.

I only see post count come into play during pissing matches. You will see things said like “whatever Mr. 5 posts, what do you know?” I remember a time when there was this guy who started on the board and only had a few post. I admit that in his early time on the board I didn’t know him well and although I never bashed him, I felt he was up to know good or trying to please the board members. Time passed and his posts to date have tripled mine. My point being that this guy is now my best friend on the board and he has proven to be among the best contributors to the board and I for one am glad as hell to know him (and he knows who he is!).
Humor. Well, humor has gotten a lot of people in trouble. It is as subjective as competition bodybuilding and to each there own. It’s funny when members joke around with each other because they know one another. But one must be careful because others may take a joke the wrong way and find themselves banned. This has happened recently to a member of the board who had many post, has his picture on the ripped member’s pictures on the front of the forum, but whose humor rubbed some people the wrong way. I still talk to him and although he is banned, I am sure he lurks. I know I would miss it. I myself feel like I am on thin ice and don’t post much anymore because of it. This board means a lot to me and I really don’t want to loose it.
I don’t know what was said to you to anger you or make you think the number of posts means much. I have seen guys come on here and make 1000 posts in a month a said absolutely nothing! We all know the good from the bad. The members here know each other and we are a tight community. I admit that there is a tendency in our community to be cautious of new members. There is a feeling out period for sure but that is just the nature of our community. Trust is earned. We have a lot to loose.
The bottom line is to contribute what you can and stay as positive as possible.

I'd like to think that the person that started this thread isn't a weasel/buttjammer...So if he or another can provide a reference that can conclude the same IP from a trusted source/board/super trusted mod....That'd be cool...Otherwise get lost you little weasle shithead pinwhatever.

Very well worded my friend. You detailed my thoughts out to a "T". Especially the first part. We ought to get along great. I sure hope there are many more like you on here. I'll go ahead and tell you that I was banned from another board because of some simple disagreements. No cursing or flaming, just a simple subject that elevated some peeps BP. Had been there almost 2 yrs. Anyway, I think we all are weary about newbs for a bit, but you guessed right. When someone flames your post count, or tells you that your signature is sarcastic and smartassed in nature, you kinda get bent out of shape. At least I don't curse or flame back...lol
