Anyone eat fruit with there postwork meal? If so what kind you guys suggest? I know pineapple is for anti inflammatory. I thought I read before something to do with oranges and bananas. I appreciate the input

It is a bad idea unless you are in DNP, the fruit does not re-establish the muscle glycogen, leave it for another meal of the day.

Liver glycogen stores are also depleted post workout and will be replenished by fructose (or in its absence by other carbs to the same degree). PWO is the best time to eat fruit.

sure.
tell that to pro road cyclists. who actually NEED glycogen constantly.
jesus. read a little.

You are a cyclist? Jesus, stop being a stupid ass.

After training the priority is to restore muscle glycogen (depending on your type of diet, objectives and training style), you can eat fruit if you want, but it is not the best option or the best time.

It's fine. Side note, there is zero evidence that carb consumption post workout leads to any added muscle hypertrophy. Protein is all that is necessary.

I don't think it necessarily contributes to recovery at all, but I do enjoy some pineapple after a tough workout. Recently I've started dipping it in some salt water before eating it and it really cuts down on the burn without taking away any sweetness. Neat little trick I picked up watching the Netflix show "Ugly Delicious."

I have never seen a study that shows muscle glycogen is restored before the body replaces the livers stores. But that would be interesting to see. But I would guess that the body would think the liver is a more important organ and give it priority if there is such a thing.

Nasser did eat papaya all the way during his prep. You can see his video during his road to olympia and chad nicholls talk about it in youtube. Anyway I dont think fruits will affect your physqiue when you eat it in right time when AAS, tren, hgh and insulin is in your body. I always see Zach King Khan drink 16oz of orange juice. (I think he shot insulin before)

Fructose will take you out of ketosis.
Fructose is more easily converted into fat than other sugars.
Fructose does not restore muscle glycogen.
Fructose has a low GI.
The fruit has fiber, it will delay the arrival of the amino acids in the blood.

It seems obvious that there are better options for PWO than fruit.

fruit is not pure fructose, but I would definely add in starches.

I love a few strawberries and blueberries in my whey pwo

Due to fermentation I prefer to drink juice post workout prior to eating jasmine rice with my protein source.

Ive been doing the following for years and like it.
4 oz unsweetened apple sauce
4 oz white rice (no oil)
50 gram whey.

It provides Carbs, insulin release, and slowed down the digestion of the whey.
Pineapple used to be big back in the day but not sure of additional benefits. I also do Bananas or apples sometimes. Some say fructose is not good but I haven't noticed a difference! You just need some carbs to recover and aid with release of insulin.

I love this idea here. Makes a lot of sense

You're overthinking this. Enjoy whatever fruit you want.

Big fan of 75g banana w/ my cream of rice.

I have 240g pineapple pre workout w/ my rice.

Strawberries are a great choice for a pre bed meal. High volume, low kcal/carb.

Post wkout i like low fat Cottage Cheese and some pineapple in it or blueberries.
for some reason strawberries area really gross in it. Grapes are good too.

i typically eat a fruit with every breakfast (eggs, some egg whites, piece of fruit) and have em post workout usually. But i dont mind having em in place of glucose carbs. i feel like having fructose as primary carb source you really get sensitive to glucose and i think possibly store it and make glycogen lil better or its like a lil mini carb up... i could explain more but been moving and smoked a lil....
