pre-diabetes?

I live in a funny works, good story bro. I have been a type one diabetic for 19 years. I have never met a type 2 diabetic under the age of 30, never. of course they are out there that's obvious. your friend is 20 and not overweight but type 2 diabetic because her diet? but she is not overweight? have a good day bro

bro.. i work in pediatrics.. I see teens every week diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.. and yes, I no the difference between type 1 and 2, very very well.


I see healthy, athletic fit teens, all the way down to fat out of shape teens diagnosed.. mostly the out of shape ones though.

Athletic teens with type 2 diabetes? Thats insane to me. Like i said i have never met one but clearly they are out there. I hope you know the difference in type 1 or 2 if you work in pediatrics lol. I found out i had type one when i was 19 so its been 18 years, not easy but A1c is in ok range. What i find funny is all these members throwing out opinions about sugar levels and diabetes. Until you have diabetes i am not sure people completely understand. I am not talking about you npcout. I see alot of docters on this board talking about diabetes

I agree no doubt they are out there but not very common and yes its becoming more common. you are type 2 at 25?, were you very overweight, no cardio? most people I meet are in there 40's or 50's with type 2

Depends on what you'd consider very overweight, I reckon, but pretty fat. I was in good shape, conditioningwise, but I've never had any problem being both fit and fat - I've run three miles in 25 minutes while weight a definitely fat 270.

In my case, I had the hereditary game stacked against me - I've got several consecutive generations of type II diabetics on BOTH sides of my family. If I'd know more about T2 younger, I could have avoided it, but hindsight....
