Price Matching at Walmart or where ever

Who in here does it? I have been doing it alot lately and saving crazy money. Cant believe I have not been doing this. I got chicken at walmart for $1.19/lb with that I got the 5lb chicken package for $5.95. I bought alot. Walmart will pretty much take any comp. AD and you can use coupons on top of that. Local markets usually have the best AD's to use. My co worker got $200 of meat for $73. Thought I would share for those also on a budget!

I usually buy my meats at costco. Good prices and meat!

Yeah like every freaken 10 miles we have a super wal mart around here....I think I was only in maybe 1-2 wal marts that were not super wal marts

Never done this..so basically you can bring a coupon to walmart from another store and they will match it? Could you print coupons online and bring them in?...and if so what are some good places to get coupons from to bring up there for a good discount?

very true their meat is horrible.in taste and in looks.next time u are there look at the meat color and you will see a what looks like a shinny and grey reflective look to it they spray there meat to conserve it longer.

funny 5min. ago my wife made me a steak and when i bit into it it tasted like shit.and she told me my mom gave it to her and my mom got it at walmart.i almost killed her cause she know i hate there meat .she thought i wouldnt notice.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize Walmart price matched. This is going to be easy with all the supermarkets sending their weekly ads.

What do you do, show the cashier the lower price or do you need to take everything to customer service?

Fyi to all. I am a electrician foreman in chicago and have built a couple of wal-marts and the people that work in these stores have told me to steer clear of the meat dept. or at the very least be careful of what you buy.

Basically take any local AD that shows a cheaper price. For example I saw an AD in a paper that I printed out from an IGA down the road that advertised chicken for 1.19lb showed it to the cashier at checkout. She hit the Comp Ad button on the registered then typed in the price. I got the 5lb pilgrims chicken package at Walmart for 5.95. Walmart only excepts local ADs within a 15 mile radius but if your slick like me you can trick them. I have printed ads from other states and stuffed into a pile printed from local markets with just cutting off the store at the top so it seems like its page 2 or something. You can also use coupons on top of this. Say you see walgreens advertising toothpaste for 99 cents and you have a 75 cent manufacture coupon. You can show walmart the 99 cent ad then hand them the 75 cent off coupon and get it for 25 cents.

best to do a search for your local area but buyforlessok.com, leekers.com and pigglywiggly are good places. In your sundays paper you should have alot of Ads too. Also you can just walk into some mom pop or IGA's places in your area and grab there ads to use. Couponmom.com or other places like this are good for coupons only. I usually go to the registers with fat chicks bc they know how to bargain so they know what to press on the register.

I can get all I need at one place plus I will except quantity over quality any day plus walmart meat is not that bad. As most would agree not worth paying 2-3x as much at other places.

I hate wal-mart and try to avoid it as much as possible! They are one of the reasons our economy sucks! They do this price matching because they are powerful enough to force companies to give them merchandise @ a lower price than others. If they don't get the price they want they black ball the company and basically try and force them out of business. I know several people that work there and none of them have anything good to say about the place. That place is almost like a cult as they will do anything to keep people coming back.
As for there meat, i generally wouldn't touch it. Especially anything that isn't prepackaged before coming into that store. It just looks funky and for some reason it smells odd over by there food. Honestly the only thing I can bring myself to buy out of there is their 10lb. bags of leg quarters for my dogs. I even stopped getting those after a visit to my butcher. I bought a 10lb bag from them and brought it home to compare. What did I find??? The bag of chicken had less pieces in it than the other bag, yet they still weighed the same. Think this doesn't mean much!? Their leg quarters weigh twice as much as any other burcher I've come across. Anywhere from 1 to 2lbs per leg quarter, the butcher's leg quarters weigh 8-12 ounces. Less than a lb. This in my mind tells me that they are using whatever meat they can get there hands on and these chickens are juiced to the max with hormones and whatever else they can find.
I don't go there unless I have to at this point.

i respect you believes but i personally preffer quality over quantity any day of the week...i enjoy tastesing what i eat..gotta tastes good man

Walmart is horrible. I worked at one for a few months while I was in college. The wages are low so they don't get the best employees and the quality of the food is low. I always end up getting vegetables that rot in a few days or open containers of cottage cheese. The worst thing that I saw happen is one day I noticed some of the night stockers who worked there were gone. I asked about it and I was told they were caught in the walk-in cooler "making new night stockers."

I found a Mexican Wholesale grocery in my town that has the best prices I have ever seen. Marinated boneless skinless chicken breast for $1/lb and precooked frozen chicken breasts for 80 cents a pound. All of the beef is deep red and smells fresh. The place usually beats chain stores on price and quality. Oh and the added bonus is the cashiers are hot Latinas that dress in their clubbing clothes.
