Was calling around to try and get a Calcium CT Score done and all the imagining places told me a doctors order was required for the test, even if Self Pay. I was wondering if anyone is aware if self pay places like we use for Labs but to get orders for other health tests exist?
Same. I'd like to get a cardiac CT angiogram and/or calcium score without jumping through hoops.
I have a few physicians who are very good friends of mine that are hesitant to order one for me because the insurance companies and medical boards frown upon people taking their preventative health into their own hands. Really sad actually.
ANY LAB TEST NOW® partners with many major, high-quality laboratories throughout the U.S. to provide affordable and comprehensive lab testing services directly.
They are only Texas but I'm sure any major city has something similar. If you do a google search for "full body CT scan" or "full body MRI" it will likely come up with some options for you. Most full body places have sections you can do for torso.
Slesh, I know they're are options in Florida. I have a house in Tampa and have looked this up there before.
Figured I would bump this just in case. I have called just about all the imagining centers in my area and they are all requiring an order for the Calcium Score Scan, pretty lame.

Where I am they do NOT require a script/referral....................but DO REQUIRE a Dr. to send the results to. I mean after all we can't have the hoople heads getting the results of the tests they are PAYING FOR! I mean can you imagine the anarchy that would ensue were I to receive my OWN results......................WTF?
