Ok so I just need some input from experience here my girlfriend has Ulcerative Colitis which just sucks so so incredibly bad...

and we got to talking about pro-biotics and ways to just help with digestion and comfort and everything. So I remembered reading on here some of the guys mentioning them. I was looking around and there are different dosages I guess they would be I.E. 1 billion, 4 billion, 15 billion etc... I was just wondering if anyone could give Me(us) some insight.

Also Biotin or anything else anyone can shed some light on and help out a bit...

research the brand "garden of life" the specific prod is "primal defense ultra"

its the best probio imho.... 15million spors populated into the gut, its not affected by warm temps or stomach acid ... its only one of its kind and patented..
 
my advice for what it's worth

My brother's girlfriend has Crohn's. What I recommended to her was to avoid using the drugs the Dr. was prescribing her. This is what I'd do.

First thing is to reduce the inflammation. But I wouldn't jump right to the NSAID's. Try to heal her naturally.

Have you two seen a nutritional doctor? Your typical MD is there to write you a prescription for a potentially dangerous drug and will spend little time consulting you on how and what to eat in order to heal naturally.

I despise these types of doctors. They just want to make money with the Big Pharm companies.

One of the biggest proponents of natural anti-inflammatory treatment, without drugs, is Dr. Barry Sears. The fish oil he offers may be the best in the world, when taken in sufficient dosages, to reduce inflammation in the entire body. He also has a great olive oil for this purpose. And of course anti oxidants play a role in inflam. reduction as well. I always recommend supernutririon optipacks. They're awesome vits.

Once the inflammation is under control then you can begin the healing.

As for digestion, I would look into optimal food combining in order to ease digestion and alleviate any addition stress to the system.

Just my opinion, but I truly believe that most physical ailments can be treated with proper diet and proper supplementation. I would stop ingesting any processed and/or refined foods, MSG and any artificial sweeteners. Try to eat as much natural foods as possible.

Limit fluids in excess of 4 fl oz per meal as this dilutes stomach acid. Begin using digestive enzymes by increasing the dosage over a week or two until you get a warm burn in your stomach and then back it down until the burn subsides. Most people are deficient in HCl from an over-abundace of starchy carbs.

I would use a raw milk probiotic like O.P.'s Qephor, if you live in California. It's very easy on the stomach, just make sure to mix in some raw cream with it for proper digestion.

Thanks man her and I discussed this im trying to convince her to see a natural doctor but she is apprehensive because she is nervous about being off of her meds...


but bump for any other inputs?
