My TRT doc prescribed it for me to counteract the effects of estrogen. Supposed to help with sleep, too. Apparently, progesterone is a precursor to testosterone, and as men age, progesterone levels drop precipitously. He said it's not enough to bring T back to normal range, but you need to bring all hormones into balance. Has anyone else heard of this or have experience with exogenous progesterone?

Are you sure you don't mean - pregnenolone?

Nope. Definitely progesterone. Weird, huh?.

You may find that you will feel a little groggy when you wake up. That's assuming that you are taking it around bedtime.

Progesterone does balance estrogens, it also is a natural 5-AR inhibitor. Progesterone also feeds the cortisol production line.

Some feel fine using Progesterone, some not so much.

Thanks for the info. Does "Progesterone also feeds the cortisol production line" mean progesterone INCREASES cortisol? Isn't that something we want to avoid?

The prohormone known as Max lmg is a progestin. It has made me big in the past no gyno issues noted while on it. Might be "just what the Dr ordered" give it a try, good luck, keep us informed.
