is there a differece in the results of powder protein copared to say chicken,tuna steak. dumb question i know but havin alot of problem eatin as much as i should but can drink hell out of shakes
 
Youre going to get a mixed response. i feel less bloat and all around better not drinking them. Personally they never made a difference to me muscle wise. Now increasing whole food protein has made all the difference in the world.
 
IMO youre best off taking in real foods and then using the protein shakes or LBA's inbetween meals as snacks. I feel that I got the best results from doing that. I even stopped drinking a shake after working out and just went to eating a real complete meal. Phil's LBAs were the best thing I ever used for inbetween meal snacks. I think the LBAs are better than protein shakes.

Here is what I would do, do one week ALL solid food, come back here and report results. The next week do half solid and half protein powders(use a good quality) and come back and report rezults. Try it out for yourself:)

I think a good rule of thumb is each as much food as you're comfortable with eating, and if you need more, consume the rest in the form of liquid foods (like protein shakes). BTW, if you don't want to use powders, you could always make your own tasty low-fat protein shake by using skim milk, egg beaters, raspberries, and a banana. It's more like "real food" than protein powder but less hard to consume than solid food. :)
 
The only real difference I've noticed is the protein powder digests slower than the whole food sources of protein so I'm hungrier more quickly between meals. I somewhat combat that with my fat source since they digest slowly by themselves and also slow the digest of the protein powder too.

They are convenient! So I tend to use them in a crunch or late for work, or in between my whole food meals...etc
