PS3 DIED!

First off I'm not into video games, I don't have time for them but when GTA5 came out of course I had to get it. The other day I went to turn on my original (fatty) Ps3 and the light just turned yellow then flashes red and nothing happens. My only option is to send it in to Sony and have them try to fix it but if it's gonna cost me money to do that I'd rather say fuck it and put that towrds a new gen console. Thoughts?

Thanks for the vid, I wonder if I took it apart and tried that and it still didn't work that Sony would take it... Have you tried this?

One of the stickers that has to be removed to disassemble the console is a "warranty" sticker. Once that's off, your warranty is void. However, if it's a fat version, your warranty is long expired. Check with them and see what it cost to repair. Most likely, they will charge you $150. You mentioned putting the money towards a next gen console. If you want to do that, you have nothing to lose by trying the fix. You can always sell it on eBay for a few bucks if it doesn't work and just buy the next gen.

bit off topic but if u decide u want one of the ps4's hold off until the later batches. the 1st few had some overheating issues.

My ps3 died a few months ago while i was playing ac4. I just bought a ps4 because I didnt want to piss away money trying to fix my ps3. It was a fat version from 07. I had to get my game out so I tried smashing in on the concrete but its like a brick! So after 30 min with a screwdriver and butter knife I finally got my game out lol....those ps3's can take a beating

I had one fixed after the yellow light of death. Six months later it took a shit again don't waste your money. Buy a new one fo sho
