What's on your play list? I enjoy listening to music when I work out. Lately we've had a change in radio stations that has left me feeling a little blue. My favorite station change formats and now is playing only top 40 or more like top 20. It seems like they only play 20 songs and most of it is J Bro's or Taylor Swift. The best station in our area to listen now plays 80's music which is no problem with me since my high school and college days were in the 80's. I still like to hear fresh new music as well. Enough about the lack of music in my town...

We all can use a little motivation during our workouts no matter where you live. Studies show music can help you work longer, faster and harder. I've found some really cool sites that can help you find the perfect music and create playlist for every activity.

I prefer to listen to techno/trance/house music when I workout... Many people don't understand how I can listen to that and workout, those are usually the people that need heavy stuff so they can get angry/pumped or whatever for there workout. But for me, techno is the best because it helps me clear my mind and just focus on my workout. I think very clearly while listening to it.

It's also great for cardio because it has good beats :)

Currently I have:

Shinedown tracks
Mudvayne tracks
Seether tracks
Theory of Deadman tracks
and Buselmo tracks!!:D

I switch up my playlist once a month. I get tired of hearing the same songs.

Could you give some songs to listen to? I kind of like the idea of listening to techno but dont know ANY artists

My favorite for working out are kaskade, Paul van dyke, tiesto, ferry corsten, and ATB..

If you like harder/darker stuff you could look into Plasticman, showtek, borgore (that's more dubstep).

PM me if you want more

I don't use a player while training, but during cardio I love Rammstein to get me going.

Anything hard! Recently I have been blasting eazy e and have been having some really intense sessions and I robbed a bank yesterday after I was done! Who feels me on the old school gangster rap? I listen to hatebreed and other hard stuff too but it's nice for a change.

I've tried doing this before, but for some reason I catch myself a bit distracted, looking around and taking more breaks between sets.

Somehow listening to music keeps me going and more consistant.

Thanks for the links. The Ipod changed my life and workouts for ever.

Lately for me it's been Slipknot and Hatebreed. Mudvayne and Rammstein were mentioned; also great for training sessions. I listen to a little rap when I do cardio sometimes because the vocals keep things interesting.

Shit's WEAK

Awe come on, Ramstien and Slipknot? You guys gotta update your playlist. I rock out to Lamb Of God, DevilDriver, Parkway Drive, and Bring Me The Horizon. Epic shit, it will get you stupid-amped in the gym. If you do the oldies thing, you better have some Megadeth.

I missed this thread....

I have hard to semi-hard stuff for training..and love re-mixes club music for cardio.....Im really bad at remembering names of artist and songs...I only know if I hear it, and like I try to look it up and download it.....my gym music sucks, so I have to bring my own..it does help alot.

I like a lot of different kinds of music... just about anything but country. lol My fav is dance, techno and good 'o rock-n-roll.

I listen to a lot of music, just wanted to name some different groups incase anyone is looking for something that they never heard. I'm sure most of the groups I listed everyone has heard. Some are heavy then others.

Mine is the famouse hit by Abba "dancing queen." I set it on repeat and then proceed to get moist!
