Im getting ready for Nationals in November and I can relate to your cake dilemma. The test of a true champion is your ability to withstand all of the temptations leading up to getting yourself in to your top competition shape. You are already a winner in that regard and Im sure youll have plenty more opportunities to show your champion character as the weeks progress. Hang in there!

I admit though having to cut like 100 pieces of anniversary cake would have put me over the edge...Next time tell your Uncles Wife to do it her damn self...Thats what I woulda done...

It is crazy though Momma Hutch can be in a great mood then as soon as those carbs from the last meal burn out then its OH DAM watch out and just smile and say "yes Honey"...

What I find funny is that after having all of those many cravings during your prep, when you finally do get to eat something you think you want...it doesn't seem quite as good as it used to.

That seems to happen with me anyways.

I think the last time I was there, I got something called the Drover's Platter. It was this huge piece of steak, and a whole rack of ribs. No problems eating that.

I remember once about 10 years ago, we were at a convention for work in Texas outside Amarillo (sp?). There was this texan steakhouse where you could order a steak, and if you eat it within an hour...you got it free.

It was 64 or 72 oz's, I believe, and came with a baked potato, roll, and salad. I remember the look on the waitress's eyes when she came back near the end, and I had eaten all of it and actually had started in on one of the members of our groups second grilled chicken breast.

It was great. I got my meal for free, and had my picture taken with this huge hat on. I couldn't do that now to save my life, and I think they have actually increased the size of the meal!

OMG... You are all the best... I could not stop laughing after reading all of this... You know how Hutch said when I burn through my carbs watch out? Well before I logged on to read this, I was in that state!!!! I feel tons better now... even though I saw the piece of cake, I only drooled a little bit.. not much though! I feel so much better and this definitely made my day!

Look at it this way.....it is a real test of will power and determination. And it sounds like you passed with flying colors!! It is hard when contest dieting. It seems like everyone is in your face with food or out to get you. Hang in there Momma it will all be over soon.........and by the sounds of thin gs even sooner for some (HUTCH). H if i were you I'd set up a tent in the backyard!!!

Yeah it is getting hard, but well worth it! I will gladly take u up on your offer to torture HUTCH... Here is what we can do... just put me on a chocolate tower diet while he is in contest dieting mode... and that will be torture for him... give him a taste of his own medicine!
