Alright, so I've searched and read the few big threads on PWO shakes. Looking for some information that I haven't been able to find on the forum, though. So far I am thinking the following base:

50 g waxy maise
10 g creatine monohydrate
10 g BCAA
6 g leucine

I am curious as to the following:
  1. Should I add AAKG?
  2. Should I add more BCAA's
  3. Should I add EAA's in addition to the BCAA's?
  4. Is there anything else you recommend adding, and why?
  5. Maybe replace the leucine with an EAA product, contains 4.5 grams of leucine afterall...

I appreciate everyones responses. I am looking for replies based on your experience expirimenting with different compounds. I was thinking of sipping this concoction throughout my workout and finishing it post workout. When I get home (30 minutes approximately), I would have my typical meal of ~40 grams protein, ~50 grams carbs, ~15 grams fat. I have also read people suggesting repeating this 'shake' thirty minutes after the first one, before a meal, do you feel this is beneficial?

Read every page of that thread in and out but thanks for the link - the only comments were by KM2000 who suggested 20 g EAA 15 g BCAA and taurine along with vitargo. Jayek also breifly mentioned AAKG and BCAA's together. The thread seems to have turned into a carb vs no carb debate so I didn't want to go off topic as I probably would not recieve as many responses.

heres what i would do...

20g eaa's
10-15 bcaa's
5 g leucine
some creatine 10g
50+g of waxymaize

do this immediatly after the workout, if you really want to get the whole effect you could do some "active recovery" this is basically some light cardio for 10-15min to keep the body shuttleing the nutrients in and getting the waste products out....i like to do the bike on leg days and the eliptical on upper body days

during the workout i dont ike to drink a shake, i cant handle it if i am training hard.... what you could do though is have a few grams of alanine and a few grams of luecine in a water bottle with a squirt of glycerine... i have been doing this the past week and it dosent upset my tummy at all while training...

i would consume 50+grams of some high quality whey protein isolate about 30-45 min pre workout, this should give you all the aa's you need to keep catabolism of your muscles away....

this i pretty much what i do, now keep in mind i am 260lbs now, i would adjust the profile according to your bw... what do you weigh?

I am only 195 at 5'7 and 11% bodyfat so no where near you, which is why I was considering taking only 50 grams of WM. But thanks for reminding me of how fucking small I am, LMAO!

Maybe 10 g BCAA 10 g EAA would be better suited to me, with added leucine? I am going to be giving Phil's LBA's a try as well so I can incorporate those once I recieve them, see if theres a difference between the two protocol's.

Im with KM on this...Id also throw in OKG and AAKG at min 5g each as well.....(worth noting that theres some good stuff around OKG at 20g per day thats emerging in muscle recovery....but thats a diff thread I think)

Id also break it down into a Pre stack as well.....take some carbs\protein\supps to take advantage of the physiological responses for the pending workout...
