The lifters I've trained can typically get away with about a 10-12lb drop and be fine. Then again they lift in 275 and 308 so you are talking a little different beast with that.
Myself having competed at 220 I like to keep it less than 10 because I too start to notice strength loss at I'd say 8-10lbs. But you shouldn't have too much trouble getting rid of 8-10lbs of water in a short time frame. Just have a few good eating spots picked out. Just make sure you don't screw yourself with that, I've been in that boat too where I feel like garbage after my refeed. Guess that's just the nature of the beast.
