Quad Sweep/Outter Quad Development

Ive seen real improvement personally these past couple months with hack squats. I can really feel my outer quads during the set. No where near impressive legs on me but I do note improvement from this exercise from before.

Impressive quads are an admirable goal.
 
How do you deal with the lower back strain?? I'm 6'1" and when I do high volume squats my lower back gets so fucking jacked I can't even walk. I have been doing box squats or 5 rep MAX back squats which sucks cause i want to be able to get that pump in em.

u know what really targets my legs and not my lower back (im 6'4'' and have long legs) is that i do squats last. not so much that i cant push myself but i do some hams and leg extrensions walking lunges and some high rep leg press and by the time i do squats i cant feel it in my back AT ALL just all legs. if i do squats first it seems my lower back is recruited more and the back pumps suck. i will prob switch it up here and there because i can do more weight if i do squats earlier but its all about working the targeted muscle and not just pushing a bunch of weight
 
I use a frog stance from time to time, seems to beat my knees up but diffidently targets that area

I did 5 sets of squats today after already doing legs for over 2 hours....135 on the smith for twenty reps was all I could do.
