Hi all,
Two years ago I tripped over my cat on some stairs and my right quad tore off of the kneecap. This is an auto-injury where the quad fires too hard in response to trauma and rips the tendon off. It's fairly rare. I had surgery and about 3 months of rehab, couldn't drive and had to wear a brace for about 7 weeks, etc. Had to put off that year's contest plans (it was to be my comeback year after many years off) Obviously lost lots of strength and some size, and it took over a year to get back up to former leg strength.
So, I was going to make my BBing contest comeback THIS year, just turned 50 so I figured I could do well in over-50 masters...then 6 weeks ago, guess what?! I fell down the OTHER stairs in my home and did it to the OTHER leg.
This time it seems to be healing quicker than the other one, but still....And FYI, yes, I was on a heavy cycle each time, so that may have contributed.
Just wanted to share this with some fellow BBers here.
Has anyone else here had, or know anyone who has had, this injury?
