Quadracep Tendon

Has anyone ever tore their quadracep tendon? If so were you able to recover? How long?

Or has anyone ever had their quadracep tendon cut for any reason and re-attached? Were you able to have full use again and train just as hard as before?

Any help gentlemen would be greatly appreciated.......

I have ruptured both patella tendons. They had my braces locked in extension for 6 weeks. Then I started serious rehab for 4 months. I can do pretty much what I want now in the gym except the doc said no leg extensions ever. He wants my feet on a flat surface. A good surgeon is key to a complete recovery

I just had surgery 12 week ago to re attach mine, the doc said I would need to be imoble for 4-6 weeks on crutches for 9-10 weeks and a brace for 16 weeks, Well I've done my own PT was walking in to weeks with a brace and crutches, lost the crutches on the 6 week and droped the brace on week 9!

saw the Doc on week 10 and he was quite happy with my progress and said keep doing what ever you have been doing!

I havent used weights yet but have been in a therapy pool 3-6 days a week streching, and extending, my knee until I had good range of motion, then went to slow kicking with a swim fin, now I do lunge walking in a pool and squats, the only problem I have now is going down stairs, and it's just because I have not been trying hard enough to re train the muscle for that action!

If you have a good doctor you should make a full recovery! several guys here have had the same injury with good results, But I have a friend who had the same injury over a year ago and is still fu*ked up but he had a "not so good doctor" and he cant believe how fast I have recovered!
