Question about steroids and bone growth

Does anyone have any info on how steroids effect bone growth? I recently had a spinal fusion and I am curious if the application of an anabolic agent would accelerate bone growth and help the fusion take faster and make the fusion stronger. Any links to studies would be appreciated; I can’t seem to find anything of any value. I asked my Doc and he gave me the vanilla answer no studies have been done to show the long term effects.

I think you should just wait it out. Trying to speed up recovery after a spinal fusion doesn't seem like a good idea, at least to me.
