Question about SynthePURE

https://www.synthetek.com/products/synthepure-whey-protein-isolate/

Possibly a dumb question, but here goes. It says two tablespoons are 30g. Does this mean 30g of protein or is it just the measurement?

I've been using it for a while and just assume each tablespoon is 15g of protein. I just want to make sure that's accurate.

Bigdog how about u put a shaker on a kitchen scale and turn it on and put one tablespoon and then 2 and see if it hits 30 gm ?

"Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder but nobody wants to lift a tiny ass weight kitchen scale " lol

- Devenidas Coleman

I never do scoops (99 percent of time) . Whey is 40 gm or 50 gm, always measured on kitchen scale. pre workout is xyz gms again measured on scale. eaa, CM all on scale. so easy and quick on scale. get a disc scale. salter brand.

I've always done it the same 'whey' you have, lol...By how it's listed I would say 2 tbsp = 30g.

Ok thanks so I've been doing it correctly then

Nah I don't have a scale. I'd rather the math already be done for me.

Really ?? how do u measure like chicken 6 oz or 8 oz, rice portions etc. just eyeball everything?

The chicken package says the weight on it, so I just do the math and if the package is 16oz, I'll just eat half a package if I want 8oz (by eyeballing how much I think is half). Same with anything really. A scale would be helpful but I just never wanted to spend the money on one lol

Food scales are very inexpensive. Weighing is much more accurate than measuring. Especially when it comes to protein powders they make all the scoops the same size but serving sizes are different amounts of grams for each brand/flavor. In the off season yeah who cares but I'm in prep so I do grams or oz on almost everything.

took a pic for you my Italian stallone lol

post leg day

100 gm uncooked rice

means

100 gm uncooked rice

why am i so sure ..

cos my trusted salter scale says so..

its so damn easy .. put whatever utensil u are using ..bowl plate jug whatever the fuck on the scale first and THEN turn it on it shows zero and put in rice, chicken, whey etc

takes the same amount of time. promise u

I am not very scientific when it comes to measuring out my synthepure. I use an old scoop from another protein container and just use 1 scoop. If I ever feel like more I do 1.5 scoops. If I had to guess 1 scoop is about 40g. I think I am pretty much dead on but if I am off a few grams no biggie. I have used the same scoop for ages so I can just go from that if I ever require more/less. As long as I am getting protein in me every 2-3 hours I am gtg. For everything else I just estimate and again I think I am spot on. For things like chicken/turkey I always cut them into small pieces and I just go by total weight and divide by servings. Then I just split the chicken pieces up into equal parts (usually in half or thirds depending upon total weight). My problem was I purposely gave myself too many carbs :D Although that has changed now and I am looking forward to progressing more. Synthepure is an amazing tool when bulking or cutting and I use it for all my fruit smoothies.

I dont think he meant does two tablespoons weigh 30 grams. I think he meant does a 30 gram serving of synthepure have 30 grams of protein in it

A rounded scoop from a 70cc protein scoop is about 30 grams

Hmm good find. I'll probably buy it. My kitchen is really tiny so I really don't have room for things but I could figure it out since it looks small. Honestly, I just never needed a measuring scale since the package says the weight on it already. For oats, I always use a measuring cup.

Yea this is exactly what I meant. I don't know how this turned into a discussion about food scales but now I realize my buddy dev just misunderstood me lol

And no...a 30 gram serving is not 30 grams of protein. With it being an isolate I would guess it's around 27 grams of protein

That's about right. I had the same question, eventually just bought a scale to
actually measure it.

Every tablespoon is roughly 15g of powder, depending on how heaped it is,
could be little more / little less.

Every 30g of Synthepure is about 29g protein as the product is 96g protein
per 100g.

haha I did oops sorry. I did not realise you were asking about the 'Yield' of protein per 30 gm or 15 gm of synthepure. like somebody else said 30 gm yield for a 30 gm scoops is impossible. I know a unflavoured pure whey isolate in uk brand like TN which is ...

Protein per 30g Serving -29.3g

This is the highest yield i have seen ever but remember this is unflavoured when you add flavouring system in for colour, sweetener yield goes down.

Then you bought the roid rage in me by telling me u do not actually own a kitchen scale

cup of oatmeal ?

now this has a funny story. Let me share with you. In the beginning i use to watch american bodybuilders videos they use to speak in videos 'oh I am having 1 cup of oatmeal and then later 2 cups of rice etc etc.'

So i was like what the hell is a cup, if it a tea cup what i drink tea or coffee in or what. I had to make sure so I googled these keywords..

what is a american cup of oatmeal or american cup something like that lol

shit was too confusing to understand :eek:

I mean i just googled this and look at the results below a US cup is not the same as aussi, canadian ,south african cup lol

Dorian always did his food in grams and ounces and weighing on scale no cup business. I think we do not get it. I am sure it works as all american bodybuilders measure stuff like this I have seen.

I do meat in ounces as I got that from watching American bbers , 6 ounce - 8 ounce. in grams its diff to get accurate every time. oz is great for meat. rest all i do gm and kgs.

How much is a cup in America?

Officially, a US Cup is 240ml (or 8.45 imperial fluid ounces.) This is slightly different from an Australian, Canadian and South African Cup which is 250ml. As long as you use the same cup for measuring out each of your ingredients, the proportions should work out the same.

Mine is 100cc and I don't do a heaped scoop so looks like I am about right. Quite honestly though I am gtg if using 30g protein or over per serving. I consume a decent amount of protein and plan to start having more. I also drink 2x 1.5 litres of water with 30g (each drink) aminos in through the day so my system is getting in aminos regularly.

I may get a scale as it is useful but I have just never been that sort of person to be so anal about things. I think I am spot on about all foods. I always do far too much rice though but I just put it in tupperware now. Oats is the same but now I have these cups and I basically can't do too much otherwise it won't fit in after adding milk/water so I am gtg. The amount of carbs in oats and rice is huge (can be deceiving). I used to have these big containers for oats and at the time I thought it would be about 100-120g carbs but looking back it was closer to 200g and I would have them twice daily.
