Question re: IGF blood tests

I’ve had two friends in the last two weeks test their igf levels using some pretty well known generics. Both were on very different protocols, however one came back oddly low and I’m curious to know if anyone can explain why it might have been.

Person A: 5iu gh daily, bolus dose post workout on gym days, then split in half and taken morning/evening on non workout days. Avg weekly total 35iu

Person A igf - 591

Person B: 2iu every other day, taken in a single bolus dose. Avg weekly total 7iu

Person B igf - 62

I totally recognize why there’d be a disparity there, however a 62 igf score seems unnaturally low, even if he wasn’t on any GH. What could explain being on 7iu of gh weekly, albeit at odd intervals, and having such a low score? Both have been on at least 2 months, using the same batch of gh.

There could be damage to the integrity of the GH for Person B; even if it is from the same batch.

That is a super low score; even for a natural. Your friend might fall under the "non-responder" category that you see a small subset of people in GH therapy trials with kids, where a few have little to no IGF increase.

I think for hepatic conversion of GH to IGF to be compromised, you need a seriously stressed liver.

I take 2,4iu per day every morning. My IGF is 353.

For one, i think he already has very low natural igf levels, for whatever reason.. And two, 7ius a week is not enough to see much of an increase if any increase at all. He may be a non responder as well. I think if he were to take more of an appropriate dose he would see his numbers rise quite a bit.
