Well i finally got certified and think Im about set. I plan on going independent, I shouldnt have too much trouble as I would pretty much have the entire market to myself here. All I was curious about was clinet consent form and physician evaluations? Should I require every client to get a physical and doctors release? Or just leave that up to their own discretion and get them to sign a consent form so they cant sue me lol.

Of course I can see it being important know of medical conditions and medications. but Im not a doctor..I dont know if I make them do a squat theyll keel over from a heart attack or something. Any tips?

Your consent form should suggest a complete evaluation from a doctor, so make them sign your consent form. Make sure you have liability insurance, that should cover you, just in case.

You don't have to have every client get a physician evaluation. What i do is make clients fill out a health questionnaire to check for pre existing health issues. If they have any issues such as heart problems, high blood pressure, or diabetes to name a few i usually advice them to get a green light from their doctor to start a exercise program. You should also make clients sign a waiver of liability stating that they are aware of the risks and dangers that might be associated with any work out program. You should have insurance as well. Usually the company you are certified through can help you to get the proper insurance. Make sure you keep all copies of questionnaires and release forms in case anything happens. Hope this helps you out. Good luck!!

Make them fill out the PAR Q and release form. You will be all set.... and oh, don't forget the insurance. It normally runs about 150.00 a year. Peace
