R.I.P. Jodi Vance

Sounds like you don't have a lot of personal experience with DNP.
250mg eod for a week or two followed 250mg daily for a week works great for me. 3 week cycle, barely any sides.

I did 500mg/day for a week and I was panting like a dog 24/7. Dumb young days

RIP

People can't use common sense. Diuretics are the primary cause of this. People also see dyazide and think that's not strong/dangerous but they don't know the amount used or any other details. None of the things mentioned are dangerous when used smartly but if you combine them especially with a heart condition and an already dehydrated state it's very dangerous. When people are this insecure and want to look good for an expo they might use many drugs and they might also push the dosages of each.

I heard she was ill before the expo and that she was being sick (vomiting) which would have lead to more dehydration. Some people get this thought that if they don't drink any water they will get drier and drier. Added to the fact she was probably running around and active/stressed looking after clients back stage so went without fluids the entire time. Her potassium reading was sky high when it was tested and that's a very dangerous position to be in and what has caused her to pass away.

Blaming DNP like it was the sole cause of her death is uneducated and ridiculous. It baffles me we still have people who have used loads of tren, orals and clen etc talking like it's a death pill. 1 cap of DNP per day is mild in many cases and can be extremely effective. But sure if you use that and are hotter than normal and running around and not drinking any water then it's going to contribute to your dehydrated state. The same could be said for stimulants as well. 1 dyazide is harmless in the right conditions and prescribed daily to thousands. Taking both and whatever else and not drinking fluids and continuing that after vomiting is putting yourself in potential danger.

It's very sad that someone's insecurity can mask their judgement like this. I guess she thought once she gets back she can have a drink and chill and she will be back to normal but sadly that wasn't the case. Maybe she did starting putting fluids back but it was too late. Regardless it's such a tragic and preventable death.

I mean her family and her trainer both said she was using DNP + dyazide was the diuretic

People are rushing to the drug comments because it was a drug induced death. DNP+ a diuretic is an extremely dangerous combo, clearly

I wouldn't use that combo but I wouldn't call it a dangerous combo in every situation. Well it could be extremely dangerous based on the dosages. Even one of those drugs could be very dangerous in the wrong hands. The dose is key factor here. If high doses aren't used what makes that combination dangerous is not being hydrated. They both make that harder so fluid intake is extremely important on both. Taking a diuretic and not drinking any fluids can be very dangerous. Adding high potassium foods could increase that danger as well. It's the main reason why people die on contest day or just after.

Taking things that speed up your heart rate or increase your body temperature will only add to the potential danger. Diuretics can be perfectly safe in the right setting but they are also the one class of drugs that lead to many deaths in bodybuilders because they often combine them with little-no fluid intake to induce dehydration so they look as dry as possible on stage. It's totally unneeded but it's still regularly done. Some of the top BB coaches in the world are known for giving their athletes multiple diuretics in the week leading up to shows. I have heard many stories about BB's also going days without fluids which is ridiculous but it still happens. Most are more educated now though so it doesn't go on as much. People push things in other ways though.

This death was different because she wasn't even competing. Not that competing should make things any different but if she were competing I could understand why she would have used a diuretic and not taken in many fluids. This was solely to look a bit drier for an expo. It's no different than BB's who blast away so they look extra freaky for expo's it's just AAS don't really kill you like that but drugs that dehydrate you and mess up your electrolyte balance are very dangerous in the short term. Sometimes these people are even aware but their insecurities overpower everything and they still push hard.

Well competition or not , and i am guilty, seen guys on here also up their dosage or add a oral just for vacation at the beach.

Well said man. I completely agree

For what it's worth I'm on hctz (diuretic) for blood pressure - admittedly lower end dose but always on it. I've run dnp a number of times with hctz. Anywhere from 250eod to 500ed. Zero hydration issues for me. No cramps, no dark piss, nada.

As with most things it's down to details, dosages and individual. Similarly many of us have have violated bro science gospel and ran Anadrol over 4 weeks and not needed a liver transplant (actually many here including myself have shown in range liver values). Just citing a similar bro science unfounded example.

What's happened is tragic and sad. Completely unexpected to have someone otherwise healthy suddenly taken from family and friends. However I'd caution against trying to extrapolate a simplistic binary life/death lesson here.

i am on eplerenone, torasemide and jardiance (which also has diuretic properties) and have run DNP and im not dead (yet)
i think the issue is using too much DNP because "i dont feel it yet" while it builds up in your system and the expo, where you usually walk around alot, talk alot and forgot to hydrate.
using a diuretic + dnp will not kill you if you arent dumb (sorry to say so)
and of course Rest in peace, way to young...

I think it also depends on the intensity of the diuretic

Something like HCTZ is very mild and well tolerated. Something like dyazide or lasix is much stronger and will probably cause dehydration much faster when combined with other dehydrating compounds.

Then there’s the potassium sparing component to diuretics which admittedly I don’t fully understand. To my understanding some are potassium sparing and others aren’t. I just know too much potassium is very bad, and was a factor in her death as well. I’m not sure what role DNP plays in potassium

This. You can’t compare Hctz to say a loop diuretic

So dnp then
Yea I’d say DNP though some people outside the sport would say T3 or clen is “harsh” I don’t get the 20 weeks out aldactone use, just make you tired and flat for no reason. Some people can’t take diuretics and others can but as we age we literally “adapt or die” especially since the last few years we’ve had a ton of people have diuretic related health issues. RIP for her and another black eye for the sport, we don’t want regulation but we keep pushing the NPC into a corner

Glad my two girls arent into this loony lifestyle that many have today with social media, bodybuilding drugs, etc...
Can be very dangerous, and very unhealthy for body & mind...

RIP..

It was more an example not to make broad sweeping statements with limited information and limited knowledge as opposed to me drawing comparable among specific diuretics (not sure how that came out as the main point but wasn't even on my mind). Example I used was Anadrol limited to 4 weeks because it is "dangerously toxic". 25mg pre workout 3x a week might be a little different than 300mg ED, if one is an alcoholic drinking a fifth of vodka a day that might just have an impact too. This is how we generate idiot level bro knowledge that gets repeated endlessly.

DNP water retention is linked to increased need for thermal regulation (core temp), at least that's the consensus I've seen from people who actually know something about it. Probably not a good idea to try to fight it, body will fight back and work harder. Basically on DNP you need MORE water. Add sweating and water loss from that if one is running enough to result in it which a lot do.

Prayers to Jodis family and may she rest in peace.
