i remember the ads in the mags for his protein product. i cant remember the exact name of it, but he claimed it was the holy grail of proteins. the closest thing to breast milk, or something like that. when i was young, he was one of the body builders i aspired to look like. RIP Mr. Scott
This is the first time I'm hearing this sad news. Larry truly is a legend in bodybuilding. Look at the symmetry. No riod/gh/slin gut. The definition of "body" building. First MR O is like the first man on the moon. Nobody in your profession can EVER beat that.
I'm surprised at how much sadness this evoked. Don't get me wrong, its never a good thing when someone passes away, but it sounds to me like this fellow lived a very fulfilling life, and passed on just a few years shy of USA's current life expectancy. Those that admired him should celebrate his life, be happy that he is no longer suffering from his health problems, and realize that we should all aspire to accomplish as much as he did and to live as long as he did.....couldn't get much better circumstances in the life lottery than he did.
Larry Scott was the original Mr Olympia and in 1966 won the second.
Joe Weider was to have said he knew Larry Scott would be the best guy to win it at the time.
RIP also my condolences to his family and friends .
Incredible physique! As inspired as I've been by physiques from Dorian, Ronnie, etc. whenever I see old photos from Larry's time through the mid 80's, I always find myself thinking how much better I like that look.
