I don't know why but it seems super common for guys to start a cycle or contest prep WITHOUT having everything they need. I've seen it here where guys have to stop a cycle or change direction mid cycle because they didn't have all the gear they needed , or hit you up panicking because they didn't get an anti estrogen because they didn't think they would need it

A younger dude at my gym asked for help trying to compete this year , ive seen him training and he outs out 100% so i figured i could help him finish his pre because he was about to start throwing clen and T3 at his fat problem rather than fix the diet.

Last week he tells me he doesn't think he has enough gear to finish his prep , so i put him in touch with a local guy and got that squared away , this morning he text and says "my nipple is sore , should i get some letro"?

I just don't understand how guys make a commitment to something then start off half cocked.

You wouldn't go into combat with no ammo thinking "I'll just pick some up as i need it"

For fucks sake guys , get a calendar , mark the day your show is , back up 16 weeks and figure out how much supplies your are gonna need then add 10% to that , look at the worst case scenario and get what you're gonna need for that.

Don't start something you can't finish. This happens way too often. Have everything you need and everything you might need before starting.

Agreed! But maybe his guy wasn't as experienced as others and didn't know to expect likely estrogen related issues. I know my first time I didn't. Someone had to tell me what to do. Although that was before the internet knowledge and forums were what they are now. Luckily now you can research just about anything! Pays to do your research!

It bothers me when anyone jumps into this with out fixing diet first.

I have a guy at my gym doing the same thing. He had to change competitions (he is still at local level) because his international shipment was delayed. I called him an idiot and explained why...lesson learned (I hope)
I never even thought of starting precontest without everything in place. Guys seem to be living paycheck to paycheck hoping they have enough extra for their gear.

LOL, I see this time and time again :banghead:!

Not with our guys. It's one of our "rules" - be equipped so if something
goes array, we can always fix it.

Gun, what's just common sense to us vets has to be spoon fed to NewB's.
And many times they're not Newbs.
That's why we are careful with who we work with.

I see more gyno, bloat, Dream Tan, trunks that don't compliment their physique, horrific mandatory posing, guys who are weeks away from contest ready, etc, etc while sitting on the judge's panel.

Then they ask "how can I improve?", or "why did I not place?".

I couldn't imagine of getting to the point of contest prep and not already have developed the skill of preparedness and pre planning.

Here's a little info that everyone could benefit from:

Now there are exceptions to everything, but as a pretty accurate approach,
for every 5 pounds over your contest weight you need to lose, and come in
at your very best................you need one month of dieting.

So if you're one of those guys who likes "bulking up" (aka getting too fat),
and gain 30 pounds.................you need 6 months of pulling back some
macros nice and gradual.

The best conditioned guys, at any level, stay less than 20 pounds over stage
weight in the offseason.

Now if you are going to take a year off, because you want to grow into the next class, that generally takes 2 years or longer to make the gains needed so you can be close to the top of any given weight class.

It's a Process. Trust the process!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try to Rush it = Failure!

I get pm's all the time from guys wanting gear in 4 days because they are on their last ml of test. It baffles me how anyone can do that. Sometimes it's a case of money so I usually say you are probably best not running anything if you can't afford a spare bottle of test to have on hand. Everyone who uses should have some spare test and an AI at the very least.

If they can't afford a bottle of test they are in the WRONG sport.

I find unprepared people are pretty much like that in all areas of their life and not just as it is applied to gear. and they will end up reaping what they sow.

If every potential contestant had there diet on point
Their head screwed on straight and there cycle on hand 4 months out all the shows would need to find venues with
Bigger stages..... I train in a pretty serious gym currently
And i doubt 25% That start prep for a show actually
Enter ... I could be wrong though i dont socialise while im there

I should post some pics of this kid who texted me from the gym earlier this week.....

His first cycle, bought it from his buddy..

100/100/100
Tren/mast/prop

Says he pinned his quad 3 ccs and can't walk

Then proceeds to ask me where to get anti estrogens so he doesn't get bloated...

And asks he how he should be taking this safely
No diet experience, bad training regiment.
