Rapid weight loss and liver/gallbladder damage

I didn’t know about this but found out about it recently.
It seems losing weight rapidly can cause gallbladder stones which gets your gallbladder backed up with bile. Which can then lead to jaundice and Cholestasis of the liver which can lead to liver damage

this may be why certain drugs that aren’t liver toxic still present liver damage, like Tren or dnp

ursodiol acid (UDCA) is usually prescribed for patients after bariatric surgery (the surgery to decrease stomach size to induce weight loss) as well as obese patients who are losing weight rapidly

might be a good idea to add UDCA OR TUDCA when you’re on your next cut if it’s aggressive and you’re going to be losing a lot of weight quickly

You could just google it, not sure what kind of source you’d like but it seems fairly well documented on government websites, scientific studies and health websites.

It pretty much stopped functioning correctly. Doc's words were that it was being sporadic. I have hemochromatosis which is a genetic buildup of iron which damages organs if left for too long. The gallbladder was the first organ to actually have to be removed while other organs don't work quite too well. I'm able to absorb nutrients for the most part, but bile is what helps us digest fats and oils. The gallbladder is supposed to secrete enough when we have a meal with fats in it. Without it, bile still drips in from the liver as it's produced, but it usually isn't enough to handle a big fatty meal so if I overload on the fats, it goes right through me.

I read about hemochromatosis but don’t know the finer details of everything, sorry to hear you have that

Hope you can get the hemochromatosis under control, i read about how the iron buildup does quite a bit of damage. At least it was a gall bladder and not a liver that failed first, not to say a gallbladder failing is not bad
