Hey Rea and Squat Ass, just wanted to get a female perspective on the assaults that Marion Jones has faced over te past few days. Do you think she should have to relinquish her olympic medals? My opinion is that she should have to give up her medals for the sole reason that it was not an even playing field. Now I am sure that other fellow athletes were taking drugs but obviously some were not as well. This said you can pretty much guarantee that some of Jones' competitors were clean when Jones was not. For this reason I believe she should have to give up her medals..Your view?

She should not give up her medals. Someone testified that she was dirty, but she never failed a drug test and she has not admitted use. That should be the end of it. Where will it end? We'll have to go back a long ways and do a whole lot of investigating. Then strip away hundreds of medals.

There is no level playing field. Why is it fair if someone has more fast-twitch muscle fibers? Because it is natural and they were born with it? No, their genetic makeups give them an advantage over someone else much like any kind of performance enhancing substance could. It seems to me that we should let them all take it and it is not an issue then.

Maybe you haven't noticed this Marty. On this board, members here discuss issues related to anabolic steroids and other things that enhance performance and the physique - of course it's all in a ficticious environment.

While your posts are more than civil, your attitude is not! If you want a level playing field maybe you need to sign-up at a Natural Board and get opinions from those that think the same as you. What you are doing is analogous to a queer (OOPS - I mean Gay) going onto a heterosexual board and trying to convince everyone that gay is the right way of life (or vice-versa).

Youre absolutely right. It did sound as though I was saying that EVERYONE she competed against was dirty and that is wrong. I didnt mean it that way. I would bet you though a great portion of those athletes were enhanced to the gills.

I wasnt saying anything negative at all about steroids.. was just asking for an opinion..I was just saying that if she was found guilty of using than something should be done. by even playing field i mean that they should allow it 100% or have stricter tsting if they are not going to allow it..my main point is bc its the olympics..athletes who dont get paid for anything except endorsements unlike pro athletes. I mean nothing else by it..It's just with all this shit goin on I was bringing up a topic of conversation. Sports is what I love and love talking about..It just so happens that this is the biggest news right now..I talked about the fight in detroit as well..You are correct in saying that I've never used steroids but I have nothing against people who do. I have chosen not to take steroids bc I have a pre existing heart condition and it freaks me out. i know this sounds stupid but my best friend in az is a pro baseball player and he does the occasional cycle. I used to work for the cleve indians and knew a lot of the players were using..i.e Belle, Thome, Ramirez..i just posted it as a discussion piece bc its big news right now thats all..I had a feeling it may have been taken the wrong way but again all it was was a discussion piece. again, there was no disrespect intended...guess i just came off wrong

we were all talking about the giambi/bonds issue so i was just looking for a female point of you on a female athlete..I'm a very objective person..Shit, this is all HUGE news in the sports world right so I was talking about it. My opinion is that IF she admits to using during her winning time period she should give the medals back bc she is an amateur athlete..Hell I think Pete Rose is a MUCH bigger criminal than bonds,giambi, canseco and others..I was just making an objective statement for the purpose of discussion/arguements sake...arguements are fun...if they made it all legal i would have NO problem with that..but since there are so many lies surrounding it either by her or Conte than something needs to be done...Sports in the 80's were so much better than they are now..were people using back then? Hell yes but nobody really gave a shit which is fine with me..My bottom line opinion is that they should make it 100% legal or 100% illegal with better testing..Everyone should have the option of taking it with no backlash..It's just that there is so much drama and secretiveness surrounding it all that something needs to be done in one direction or another...I never said steroids are the devil or whatever..I just want an even playing field by making it 100% legal or the other way--simple as that
