Reactive hypoglycemia and Whey protein

Hey Gang.

I get the weirdest Reactive hypoglycemia from drinking pure Whey protein in Water, or in fat-free Milk. My HBa1c was always below 5 on my recent labs, my morning fasted glucose is usually around 75-80. I don't have any issues with blood sugar otherwise ( be it high or low, I get back to baseline after my meal quite quickly, despite being a fat fuck)

Normally I would prefer to eat just something for my protein, but the next few months will be really busy and I need to use a bit of protein shakes to get in my daily protein. I could try those ready to drink Protein Shakes, but they are a bit too pricey for my cheap skate ass to be honest 😁.

Got any tipps?
 
Consume a piece of fruit(easy to carry) that has a good fructose content...grapes, raisins, pear, watermelon, etc.
 
I used to get the same problem. It usually happened when I was on tren. Are you currently on tren? Anything else like insulin or T3?
 
Throw some dextrose in your shake
 
Do you take anything to reduce blood glucose? Insulin, metformin, glps, anything?

Haven't really heard of people going hypo off whey protein, if they're not taking anything else to lower blood glucose, unless you maybe A) had the most intense workout of your life and your body has burned through most of its glucose/glycogen or b) maybe there's some mechanism with the whey you're consuming that triggers your pancreas to produce insulin endogenously (ive heard thing like sweeteners like stevia can do this although I have no science to back this theory up--seems purely bro science)

At worst, like others said just add some dextrose or fruit if you're going hypo. What does your blood sugar come in at when you start feeling the hypo bouts come on?
