Its been a few rough weeks. About 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Little about me - 65 male , been using PED'S since my early 20's. I had periods where I have been not using. The last 10 years on TRT doses. Until the last few years I never went to the doc or had bloods. Two years ago my PSA was 2.5. Last year I blew off my appointment. About 6 weeks ago I started noticing something is not right. - I had incontinence issues. So I went to the doctor got my PSA and it came back at 25. Took A retest and came back at 23. This started a string of events - MRI -Biopsy then a pet scan. Found out that I do have cancer, Luckily it has not spread. So in 3 weeks get it removed along with 2 lymph nodes. Hopefully they get it all and no Radiation Therapy.
This will be the first time in my life that I won't be working out. Started at 12 and have been religious about training . Never have taken a week off. I will be out of commission for about 6 weeks, The scariest part if I have to go through radiation. They will chemicaly castrate you for up to 2 years. To me that would be the hardest part. In the meantime I will be training up to the date. I feel perfectly fine - been retired for over a year and and in the best shape since my twenties. Been doing what I want ( workout, pickle ball, coach) staying as busy as working - . I am hoping that this is a bump in the road. It scares me to shrink away to nothing.
Any fellow iron brothers go through this - If you would share me how you coped.
One word of wisdom do your bloods religiously. I am hoping that I dodged a bullet.

I'm truly sorry to hear about this 😥 staying positive and having a good attitude will help you make it through, best wishes!

honestly man id look to natural alternatives
i had a client who was healed using ivermectin and a slew of other supps id be happy to past the protocol here
prostate cancer moves so slow that you dont have to make a rash decision immediately
there are natural paths here and good drs that know them
my client worked with me on nutrition and building this protocol i can share along with an integrative med dr
seek oout some options bc the prostate is the center of a mans sexuality, sex will never be the same if you remove it or zap it

Have a close friend going through the recovery of the removal and it’s not easy.
I feel for him. It’ll be a battle so prepare mentally.

I don't know much about prostate c, but in most other Cancers insulin and igf1 is a driving element, I would look into fasting along a low protein very low fat and no carbs diet, what do you have to lose at that point? I really wish i could be of more help 😥

My father had it,, i probably will too. He was 62 he is now 92. So much cancer in it they just removed the whole thing. I believe they try not to go that rout now and leave it in if possible. I remember it was kinda a hard recovery. We never really talked much about it, i know though to this day he wears like a pad because he still pees himself a little.

Hang in there brother! Prostate cancer is one of the most treatable types of cancers. I've known a few friends over the years that had it, one having to have radiation for a while afterwards, and they are all cancer-free today!

I was treated for it in 2002. Mine was considered low grade so they were able to do brachytherapy (Radioactive seeds) I also had to do a year of the chemical castration. That part sucked both mentally and physically.
Hot flashes, loss of strength at about 6 months etc. The good part is I only missed a week in the gym and I'm still alive! Stay far away from any testosterone etc. It fuels the beast. After 10+ years of having an undetectable PSA, they reluctantly gave me the OK to use low dose Androgel. The urologist is fine with it, the radiation oncologist-not so much. When diagnosed, my PSA was 4.1 and the Gleason score was 6. Do you know what you score is? Maybe they do something different now. Hang tough, don't fall for some of the hocus pokes out there.

There is no relationship between a mans testosterone level and his risk of developing prostrate cancer.
Otherwise risk would go down as you age but prostate cancer seems to largely be in older people and not the youth who have naturally higher testosterone levels

I’ve always wondered why test is seen in such a bad light with prostate cancer? Granted I don’t know any great detail about the subject

Hey man. I just prayed for you and your family. Never been through anything like this. I think for guys like us who have been training and living this lifestyle all our lives basically its even harder for us than the "ordinary" people to deal with things like this. I think we feel so great most of the time that we get kicked in the dick by these things and get reminded we are mortal and not indestructible. I wish I could give you some "wisdom" on how to deal with this. All I can say is try to keep your head up and stay positive. Easy for me to say. I hope you have family and friends. At the end of the day they are all we have and the most important thing. Keep us all informed how things are going.

I had had 2 samples out of 12 come back hot. One was a 6 the 8 Gleason. I am being treated at Rush in Chicago - it is part of the MD Anderson cancer center. I could go the radiation route - but I prefer to get it removed. The surgery is done robotically. I talked to my urologist about going back on TRT if things go well I could be back on test. My test numbers were always between 500-600. Have not done any high doses in over 30 years. Just hoping to get this over.

Testosterone is fertilizer for prostate cancer but does not, in and of itself cause it.

My dad RIP had stage 4 prostate cancer, lived about 6 months after diagnosis. His PSA score was 999, metastasized to his bones and internal organs. I went all his doctors appointments, had chemical castration. We moved in with him, held his hand while he passed away in the middle of the night.

Early detection = better prognosis, is one of the most successfully treatable cancers.

Bench529. I am in no way painting you into corner. You are strong and healthy and have caught it early. 👍 It is scary but you are going to get through this. I know you have all our support. Please reach out to us for that support when you need it, as much as need it. It is not a sign of weakness and I am proud of you for sharing this with us.

Keep working out to stay strong both emotionally and physically. It will serve you well as you navigate this long and winding road. There is light at the end of this journey. Keep your eyes on the road and you will get through this. Please keep us in the loop.

You are probably going the correct route. In the remote chance that the surgery fails, you can almost always do radiation after, as a salvage approach. If you did radiation first, and it failed, your alternatives are more limited. The 6 Gleason is about average. The 8 is probably why they want to remove the lymph's. The info I give is based on what I learned 20+ years ago, when I was being treated. Please check credible webs sites.

Sorry for the bad news OP, hoping you have many years left and beat this thing. Stay positive. I would stay away from carbs and it seems keto diet helps from cancer multiplying

Don't worry about shrinking up. Just focus on the recovery. IMO the thing you want to focus on is regaining urine control and also sexual function. Hopefully your Dr. is progressive and will have you "rehabbing". Lots of Kegel's, Viagra and Cialis regimen, and I would add PT 141 in there at a low(er) dose a few times a week. Also get a good cock pump and use it daily (not joking).

Again, dont fret about your body- you'll get it back. Just focus on the recovery!

Good luck!!
