hadn't had bennys for 6 months, pain started 2 months ago but couldn't do anything about it,made an appt with orthopedist for 16th cuz i feel a grinding when i turn head, well, pain up back of head was so bad today went to er, er dr did cat scan , tells me i have degeneration between c6 and c7..........fuck me

for now i got 600mg ibuprofen 3 times a day and flexeril? i guess to ease muscle pain b4 bed


anyone dealing with this? i know i had a plate put in my wrist cuz that got worse with age, doesn't move but i'm pain free...........is there a procedure where they can replace whats degenrated or are you pretty much fed? my guess is no cuz one wrong move by dr and your paralyzed

i'm starting to hate getting old, i guess this is why older guys just don't give a fuck about much, cuz the more i deal with the less i care about trivial shit

I have back problems in my low back so not the same thing but I feel for you Bro. Hope you can get better news when you get the chance to see a specialist.

I will say, make sure you only take that flexeril when you don't have something you have to do until you find out how it makes you feel. I have an extremely high tolerance to medication but that stuff knocks me out when I take it. Soma doesn't even hit me like that and it's supposed to be a stronger med than flexeril is.

germany has pretty much perfected a precedure with artificial discs in your back or neck but obviously its not coverd by insurance and i know someone that paid 30k for 2 discs in his neck in germany. he feels amazing. hes in is early 50's.

germany has pretty much perfected a precedure with artificial discs in your back or neck but obviously its not coverd by insurance and i know someone that paid 30k for 2 discs in his neck in germany. he feels amazing. hes in is early 50's.

not covered, wtf..........id like to sit down with a mfer from the insurance company thats in pain

and to boot, just got off 10 days of hcg and started 6 week pct today, so i'm loving life right about now


i got some gh in fridge but doubt that will help me at all

Wasp, I posted a some weeks ago I am dealing with the same. I woke up the week before Christmas with intense pain in my neck and left trap and numbness/ weakness in the left arm/hand. I was popping 800 mg of ibuprofen every 5 hours. I was miserable. Long story short, after x-rays and an MRI at the ortho doc, I have degeneration in cervical C2-C6. I have bone spurs (from degeneration) that have irritated nerves, especially C5/C6. They put me on a 6-day predisone pack and that helped the pain A LOT. After 3 weeks of PT I am pain-free but I still have just a tad tingling in my forearm on occasion. Bicep strength is returning but they tell me that takes a while. The PT has consisted of a lot of neck flexibily/strength, ART, awareness of neutral head positioning (I work on a computer all day), etc. If the therapy doesn't work, the word is they can do a epidural cordisone injection or if it gets bad enough, fuse the vertebrae.

Find you a good ortho (spine) doc that is sports oriented if you have not done so already.

BTW, I also had the grinding and popping in my neck you mentioned and the PT guy told me its from not moving your neck because you are in pain, therefore things get very stiff.

well, i am going to a spine ortho locally, all the special guys, which is where i had my wrist done are an hour away...i'm sure ill end up there at some point.........the guy that did my wrist works on the ny giants, cant move it but its like it never happened, i can lift, swing a hammer all that.........no way id let just anyone touch my spine, i do my homework..........yeah, gonna start some pt see how that goes b4 i go see ortho..........been thru alot this last year, lost my house, all my annuity, my 18 yr rel, and now this.........needless to say, i shed a tear on the way home..........been tough but ill get thru it

I should have also mentioned I have doing neck traction 3 x day @ 10-12 minutes each… very important… They have me using a device very similar to this.

Yeah, getting old sucks, especially if you've spent most of your years in a gym. I've had several surgeries after things just wore out - torn bicep, rotator cuff, patella tendon, and spine....L3, L4 and L5. Experienced symptoms like yours in my neck.....tried cortisone injections but didn't get much relief until they added a long acting Lidocaine to the mix. Still munch down Flexiral and Ibuprophen...but at least it's better than another surgery.........
