Retatrutide

Couple of quick anecdotal observations after 8 weeks on Tirz after being on Reta for a few months-
The appetite suppression switches in at exactly 3.75 mg a week for me. 3.5, hungry often, 3.75? It’s all in my head and never hungry. Effect is waaaay more pronounced than Reta, where I went as high as 6 a week, and still hit hungry sometimes. Also HR dropped by almost 10 on Tirz versus Reta.

Just adding to the anecdote observations here- also, you can absolutely take Tirz and still grow muscle efficiently

14 pounds in a month is a lot? Was that on the same exact diet or did you change anything?
Not really.. it was about 45 days.. I ate as usual.. trained as usual.. no real lose of strength.. I did notice that I really didnt " snack" in between meals.. no real desire.. but i made sure I ate myself 4 meals a day.. felt good energy wise.. noticed I didnt have the inflammation in my joints as much.. pumps were much greater due to better insulin sensitivity id imagine.. id say my calories were down a tad.. but overall no real change to lifestyle..

That's awesome, especially with no real change to lifestyle.

I’ve been down to 1mg/wk for a few weeks and I’m finally off. I wasn’t going to come off but this clean bulk has gone real well and I just want to take a break. Not sure how long the break will be but I want to see what happens to my digestion etc.

Not going into a long post about it since all of you know how much I love Reta but just felt it was time. I will do my best to stay lean by increasing the MOTS-C and SLU doses and adding in some NAD+ to see what that can do. You guys know I love the mito peps, adding NAD+ will be interesting.

Reta is a gamechanger in so many ways, best peptide in my eyes. I will be back.

did you still see weight/fat loss, while running reta plus the amount of food you were eating ?
No, it’s not a miracle drug that you lose fat and gain muscle in the offseason

Something I'm hearing more and more of - GLP's and lack of desire, ambition, motivation, work ethic etc.

Anyone else noticing this?

I personally do not think they have effected me these ways but also on fairly low(er) doses. Now heard similar comments 5-10 times on podcasts, social media and so on...

Yes it’s the dopamine effect

has anyone combined reta with cagrilintide?

apparently they work in different pathways, and could have huge synergy for appetite suppression
I did, but I seem to be immune to Cagri, it never worked for me.

thinking of making the switch from reta to cagrilintide myself tbh

apparently cagri is better at preserving lean mass as opposed to reta

gonna do more research into it

wonder what @nothuman thinks

upon reading the cagrin tread on this forum, i think i'll just stick with reta

my dose maxed out at 1mg per day while on poverty calories and high dose DNP..

clinical trials used 12mg reta.. so i still have a way to go until im at the maximum dose.. so i doubt cagrin will ever really be needed..

i may explore cagrin in the future - starting at like .1mg per week.. seems like the stuff is insanely powerful

Tirzepatide at 2.5mg per week knocked out my hunger cravings and every one else I got it for.

Reta doesnt seem to do much of anything for appetite for me.

Do people stack Reta with tirz?

Seems like it would be using a test/tren blend (Reta), and then just adding test (tirz)

Lol

Or is my thinking off? And if it is, how?

Yeah, I've done it. I'll use 1mg of semaglutide or 2mg of tirz with reta when I need better appetite control. Wife is using the tirz/reta stack right now. She gets no appetite suppression from reta

Idk with that analogy I would think of Tirz as test and Reta as tren.

Tirz/test = ole reliable solid compound. Reta/tren = the exotic compound... But poor comparison considering how good reta is for health and bad tren is.

Got my hands on some Reta for the first time. Just looking to do an 6-8 week tidy up and pull calories back to maintenance and add in cardio.

What dose should I start with. 0.5mg once a week?

On 300mg test PW
6iu GH

You know, in my opinion there are a few factors here.

Since I started using retatrutide, my calories didn’t really go up much only from around 750 g carbs to 800 g. Everything else is the same.
But before, I used 12 IU insulin pre-workout and 10 IU post-workout. Now I had to reduce it to 6 IU before and 6 IU after, because the previous doses were too much.
I reduced it step by step, not all at once of course. And I may need to reduce even more. Maybe I even I can stop it but I still want to keep some insulin around training for extra anabolic effect.

I think in your case there are a few things going on.
You might have low blood sugar, especially because you use long insulin (Novolin) morning and evening. This keeps lowering your glucose all the time.
At the same time, retatrutide at this dose improves insulin sensitivity a lot, so your blood sugar can go too low that’s why you feel like this.
Also minerals can be off. This can affect sodium and potassium balance, so I would check electrolytes. I would also check estradiol, because from what you say it might be too low, and that can also be a problem.

So I wouldn’t blame retatrutide directly, but rather everything around it. I would look at insulin first especially remove long insulin, keep only short around training in lower dose.
Check estradiol, and check minerals.

This is my quick opinion based on what you wrote.
To circle back here - I pulled Reta and all insulin for a few days and then added Reta back in - this time at 1mg total per week, rather than 1.5mg. I'm keeping the Novolin-N out and just doing ~5iu Novolin-R post workout now.

I think this is yielding a much better result. Some fullness and pop has come back, but I'm also staying fairly dry (for me)...there's a "feeling" I associate with good insulin sensitivity, and Reta certainly helps achieve that.

I think you're definitely right about Reta's increase in insulin sensitivity. At first I thought I'd just use insulin during the off-season and add Reta back for dieting, but given all Reta's health benefits, I think I'm better off doing similar to what you're doing - keeping it in and just tailoring insulin intake accordingly.
