Reverse respiration

In this video of Hany rambod the guy do an reverse respiration. I know that in the positive phase of the rep exhale and in the negative inhale, he do the same opposite. Why ?

Commenter says he did that breathing technique and it gave him a "big boost in muscle growth". Riiiight.

Let's just say.......I have my doubts. :)

Actually just found this:


Regarding REVB: "...generally it resulted in decreased lifted load".
 
I always found it to create a lot of pressure on my chest. As your sucking in when your body is contracted. I have actually tried this and it didn't even last the workout. Though when not lifting/in between reps I always focus more on breathing out as instinctively your going to breath in.
 
They are doing specific machine and isolation movements for the shoulders where thoracic alignment might be better for the move with this breath pattern.. i wouldn't interpret what he is saying as a general statement regarding all movements and lifting goals.
