Very sad day. I have seen his name everywhere when reading workout or nutrition articles. 57 years old :(

Just read this this morning. I wasn't a huge fan or follower of his material over the past many years, but he was a staple for me during the 90's and early 2000's. He had a huge influence for many years, and he helped lift the training discussion greatly years back in the 90's with his columns and Q&A in MM2K and later with Tnet. May he RIP.

My condolences to his family and friends.

damn that's young to die, assuming that causes were natural

RIP and condolences to his family and loved ones.

Ugh, that sucks. I'd bet almost everybody who gets seriously into lifting has read something of his at some point.

Very sad day. Poliquin didn't invent concepts like German Volume Training or antagonistic supersets, but he popularized them and brought them to whole new audiences. I started reading his work back in the old Muscle Media 2000 in the 90's, and have followed him ever since.

I don't agree with him on everything, but I appreciated his work and he had much to offer to others. A tragedy for the strength and conditioning community.

Hormones or not, this life style takes its toll

Here we go with the automatically relating this to roids...

Very sad day for his family. And a great loss of knowledge.

He had heart issues . This will most likely be labeled a heart attack. He had one 20 years ago

This sucks! I followed a lot of his shit through the years....RIP

Yes, he had a series of heart attacks in 1994. 2 of his brothers also died of heart disease.

This is in no way trying to rationalize or take potential drugs out of it - just the facts.

Very sad!

He was such a health and nutrition freak. Unreal.

was he on the juice when he was younger though? if that is the same guy I am thinking about I am not even sure he trained at that age.. I have also read nutrition and healthrelated articles from him..

That being said, it's encouraging to see guys living another 28 years after a heart attack occurs

I don’t know about the juice. Although he liked to mega dose supplements. Especially fish oil. I really can’t picture him doing the same with aas.

Yes he had heart issue decades ago.. I had heard that he had damage and there was still occasional issues.. That's assuming it's of natural causes..
