I remember his ejection fraction was real low, like mine or worse, and they had him wearing a special jacket to help out. First time I had heard of that. It sounded like he had a great doctor too.

he spent much of his late 20's and early-mid 30's in the 255-280 range (at 5'9)

then had his heart issue in 2010, and appeared to be dialing things back as a result.. but it did not last long.

the last thread he started in 2013, he was back to 275 and trying to push even higher..

few people get a second chance to turn things around... it's truly sad when guys ignore the writing on the wall and refuse to hang up the extremeness of the lifestyle.

if there's a lesson to be learned here, it's that passion and ambition are both great things... but we should never allow ourselves to be so consumed by them that we lose track of reality.

I myself did the very same thing myself. I was using steroids heavily and around 2003 or so I developed cardiomyopathy just like Chris did. My EF was around 30% then. I went off everything for about 10 months and my EF climbed back up to %60 again which is normal. What did I do? I went back on again of course. Then about 4yrs later I had my heart attack but lived through it. I got lucky. I was stupid.

Not trying to sway anyone either way...Just going by what he said to me and a few others that was very concerning (and familiar....)

It is damn hard not to be depressed when you cant work out hard in the gym like you want to, that leads to problems. Training hard with weights used to be one of my most favorite things in life to do and now I dread it because of what shape I am in due to my heart disease and meds. I can imagine that it was affecting Chris even worse since he was still trying to maintain or gain more size.

Damn what the fuck man!!! he was the guy who kept me motivated, would not have done my last show without him!!!! wish he would've told me what the fuck was wrong!!!!!!! For you anything bro!!!! may you rest in peace.....
