RIP Patrick Arnold

For those of us who posted back in the 90's, PA was a monster of knowledge. Outside of the magazines back in the 90's, he started online at mfw newsgroup before eventually posting on other discussion forums, such as EliteFitness, etc. He posted under the names Pa1AD and PA mostly back then. Guy was a wealth of knowledge. I had not conversed with him in many many years now. Some of his posts over the past couple of years seemed off to me, but he was indeed a brilliant chemist and innovator. It's sad to see guys like him go out like this at such an early age. I grew up in the 80's and 90's, so he was a staple for me back in the 90's....Duchaine, MM2K etc. So many memories of good times back in those days, on many levels. Not many left, unfortunately

IIRC, his name is Mike McCandless. I remember ordering M1T after it was banned in the US, I sent payment to someone in the UK. A few days later, I got a pack in the mail from Mike McCandless / 1fast400, sent from North Carolina.

This is correct. Two different Mikes.

I never posted there but lurked for years. Tough crowd, too tough for a softie like me. They took no prisoners, had zero tolerance for BS. You can still access those old posts. Amazing time.

Yea, I was just a lurker there as well, for the same reason, lol! I was just a teenager following all the guys I read from in the magazines at that period of time. Man, they were BRUTAL!

Man I miss USENET. I remember having a lot of chats with Lyle McDonald on there. I used Duchaine's diet for my 1997 competion in Japan.
Patrick must have been in his mid-later 20s like me if he was posting then. What a different era.
He will be missed.

Pro hormone Forum. It went under eight oddyears ago when the forum owner died. PA had an Q&A sub forum that was a wealth of information. Not only from PA but some very intelligent posters. Man, I missed that. PA could be brutal to some posters but they were usually arrogant Fs and they deserve it..

PHF was amazing times. Id buy up all the new stuff they were putting out. Like when they did the Celtic Labs stuff.

I was married at the time. Those who know me here know the back story. Anyway I had a wife in a wheelchair for 32 years of marriage. Had to claim medical bankruptcy 3 times. The PHF owner was so kind! He heard and offered to send anything I wanted in way of supplements free of charge! I ordered like protein and 5 Prohormones and a preworkout I didn’t want to feel like I was taking advantage but he assured me it’s fine. Amazing guy

Saw this last night. Sad to see. I was connected to him on FB. He was pretty "off" the last 10-12+ years. Never seemed in a good state mentally. Also, VERY heavy into that "thing" that was pushed on everyone 5-6 years ago.

For the oldies, there's a story about the meeting of the minds that never happened due to Patrick. It was as EAS in the 90, Phillips brothers, Scott Connelly, Anthony Almada, etc, etc. Patrick OD'd before the meeting on GHB and picked all of the table in the board room. The meeting apparently never happened.

I have been facebook friends with him too and noticed the same but waited for someone else to mention it first. Something was clearly off with the way he typed and didn’t make any sense. In my head, I kept asking myself “this is the genius that invented all these cutting edge compounds 25 years ago I always heard about?”

In any case, he lived a heck of a life. RIP to him. The bodybuilding/sports world lost a revolutionary

He suffered TBI after he got jumped and beat-up outside of a bar on his way home. We talked quite extensively over the phone, in person and over messenger shortly after that ordeal went down. The score got settled after that incident.

I introduced my brother to Patrick– in turn my brother was one of his salesman for a short period of time– up to the time the DEA raided Patrick's business. Patrick also dated one of my brothers ex-GF- she was a nut-case. She totaled his Benz SUV– amongst several other shitty things she fuk'd him over on.


I've known Patrick personally shortly after he moved to Champaign, IL back in the late 90’s. I've mentioned this several times over the years on here. Years ago–I put EnhancedAthlete in touch with Patrick – so he could get some Ment Mass Spec'd. That threads archived somewhere here.

I wasn't of the crowd that rubbed elbows with Patrick because of who he was in the limelight. I knew Patrick on a level only a few did. He was a unique person.

He's now teaching the higher powers above how to formulate new chemical bonds.

You'll be missed by many– RIP my friend.
