sadness is a mood, while depression is a disease. You can ignore one, but not the other. A funny movie, friends can be a "cure" for sadness... but someone dealing with depression, isn't as easily taken care of. There could be a million and 1 reasons why someone deals with depression....

Until someone's walked in the shoes of someone dealing/fighting depression, you really have no right to make any judgements against them.

"Depression, clinical depression or any form of it, its real. I can attest that I have walked in those shoes for the past 45 yrs of my life, it comes, goes but when it returns it comes back stronger. Many deal with life differently, others just dont work that simple. Depression could be related to all sorts of things, medical, genes, abusive past, drugs, social life, parents, social economic conditions, lack of parents or family support system, depression can come from anywhere and quite frankly we dont have the answers to why this happens. But like the post above stated, until you havent walked in those shoes you will never know.
