Anyone have first hand experience with either modalities?
They're both radically different approaches but essentially both look to target the nervous system and re-program movement patterns for more optimal performance. People are so wrapped up in rep range, volume, exercise selection yet forget the importance of fundamental bio mechanics.
Here's a quick video on both in case you're curious;

Ben Pakulski discussing his experiences of Greg Roskopf MAT

Literally every professional sports/athletic team will have some form of physiotherapy like this before every workout. It's a very underappreciated craft.

This application was pretty wild, most big time athletic programs use this shit daily and if you see a pro do it you'll be amazed what they can achieve with athletes

RPR is easy to do and does yield results for me. No I cannot equate it to lbs or PR's but you will feel "light" and "unbound" after you try it. Hurts like a mofo when someone else does it to you. Rumor has it JR broke someones rib while performing it on them. Rumor though.

I've had RPR done to be me numerous times. Like SocialD said, it hurts BAD. Grinding against your sternum, obliques, etc.

Personally i felt amazing afterwards. ROM, activation, everything.

Great :/ . I've had MAT but not RPR, JLs clinic is close to me but ive only been able to observe so i've only practiced self application. I've always noticed proprioception increase immediately but not so much feeling better, I suppose I need to go harder then... Thanks for telling me to take my purse off.

O/T but Cal Dietz's triphasic programming has practical implications for powerlifters, bodybuilders, and strongmen on top of the traditional athlete base it already serves such as football, track, basketball, etc.

Not gonna lie I have had tears. Glutes were the worst. That spot under the ear near the cheek bone was just too much the first time.

Haha. Yeah man. Self application is your problem. You need someone to 'keep going' when you would stop doing it to yourself. I've tried it and its not the same.

I do Graston/Thergun to myself and its good, but not nearly as beneficial when i have my chiro/Wife do it to me. I'm literally crawling off the table with them.

I'd love to go to one of those clinics. I really would like to attend a Chris Duffin (Kabuki clinic).
