Whats safe to take long term for reflux. Ever since I had sleep apnea surgery 8 months ago I get bad reflux. Especially laying down in bed.

I work with a guy who has been on the generic version of omeprazole with magnesium. He has taken it for years with no issues. I had asked him once about it for my dad who suffers from it.

He said he does get a blood test each year to check on B12 levels as there is a chance that taking it for extended periods of time can lead to this deficiency.

But he has never had to supplement with B12 or had any issues with it.

My dad has been on it maybe two years now with no problems as well.

I suffered from this for years, not everyday, but at least 3-4 times a week, I feel your pain.

I'm thankful I know only get it once or twice a month.

Honestly, what has worked for me, 2 TBS of ACC with a bit of water once or twice a day.

It really worked for me and OBV there's a host of other benefits to it.

This of course is if you don't want to take the prescription route which I was taking Esomeprazole, I took this for years

I tried EVERYTHING to cure my indigestion the only this hat has helped is eating less carbs and 40mg Protonix (pantoprazole) every day

I've had ulcers since I was 16 caused by Zollinger Ellison syndrome , I dealt with it by taking OTC meds and eating a ton of Tums every day until this year it got exceptionaly bad. I went to a a gastroenterologist for a scope and found out that my ulcers were worse and they tested positive for Barrett's esophagus.

So now it seems I'll live with getting indigestion when I over indulge of carbs and just take the Protonix for ever.

I'd suggest going to a Dr to get an EGD just to make sure it's not something bad

Gaviscon Advance but (very important) the British version. It has to have sodium alginate. That’s how you know it’s the British version. They don’t sell it in the US but you can buy it right from amazon and get it in a week. The formula forms a foam barrier that sits on top on your stomach and prevents the reflux specially at night. Also contains ingrediates to deactivate the enzymes in you esophageous from previous reflux bounts which gets activated by acid (including acv) when you have another bout. This is more harmful than the acid itself. I’ve been on different ppis daily for 15 years and this is not perfect but the only thing that allows me to lower my ppi dose or take a day off.

You can thank me later.
