Anybody in the Savannah area? I'm going to be moving there by the end of the summer and don't really know much about the area.

my friend lives on tybee so we go downtown alot.From what he says they have alot of crime for a small town.

I was born 90 miles south of Savanna and went to college at GSU. Been to Savanna many times, especially for the St. Patty's day celebration on River Street when I was younger. It is an old coastal city with a very nice historical section mixed in with some very modern developments. It is a nice city, but it does have it's darker side. It has a high crime rate per population density and that includes violent crimes (I knew a girl that was raped, beaten, and then murdered in Savanna. I also had a guy (pimp) pull a gun on me at a red light when I yelled at him to stop beating a women (hooker). It was after 1:00 AM in the morning on the wrong side of town and needless to say I ran the red light.

Yea, I've been there a few times on business and could tell there are parts of town that you don't want to be in for sure! I'm making a trip down next week to start looking around.

it's ok...there are a few good guys down there...and you should be able to find a good gym as well..

i spent 6months in Savannah nice town. if u there the 4th of july go to tybee island gr8 fireworks show right off the ocean. i like the look very old south. hilton head is right over the border in the carolinas some nice beaches all around there
