saving money on bodybuilding tips thread

not sure if this helps anyone... but while i wait for my protein from TP (may not be here tomorrow)
i hit costco.. they have 4.4lb kaizen isolate on for $34!!! i will be tasting it soon, so will update...not expecting much...but when one has kid, mortgage and all thats going on in the world...thats prettyy gooodd... and not many of us WANT/CAN go with out protein..

phats

To follow up on your post about cheap protein.......................Walmart is selling 2.2lbs of whey (some co. Body Fortress) for 11.99. Taste is pretty damn good and at $6/lb well worth the cost.

Anybody know of a cheap, QUALITY, multi-vitamin worth mentioning??

striated.... i would highly reccomend garden of lifes "vitamin code" multi..

all natural and hAS created nutrients halfway between sunthesized and found in food state along with the flavanoids etc that really make said nutrient work. for example, bioflavanoids potentiate vit c..

I've got one I didn't see mentioned before. For the record I hate yogurt. The only store bought one I can tolerate is the creme savers brand, and I might as well eat pixie sticks if I go that route. But you can but a yogurt machine and make it for pennies on the dollar. You can add whatever cultures you want, add some berries and you have a healthy base. Stir in a scoop or two of protein powder before eating and you have a nice add on to breakfast or a snack. I still don't like eating it, but I eat for substance rather than wonderful taste these days anyway.

One thing I found is our local supermarkets mark down the meat the last day it can be sold. I typically buy that because its 20%-50% off and just freeze it. I found it usually expires on a Tuesday or Wednesday so those are the days I try to shop. If I can't find that I'll go with the family packs. Tonight I got porter house steaks in a family pack for $4.99 a lb that by today's standards I feel is good.

I buy veggies at produce junction because they are dirt cheap.

I bought a freezer and a vaccuum sealer. That way when something goes on sale I stock up like crazy. I usually buy the place out and then go for rainchecks.

I try to get as much free food from nature as possible (hunting and gardening).

I don't throw ANYTHING out unless it's rotten and I try not to let that happen. I make it a point to eat leftovers the next day. I'm amazed at how much people throw away. It makes me sick.

I cut coupons like crazy and then wait for the items to go on sale at the store and use my coupons.

I don't buy a lot of supplements anymore. I'm eating a lot of food and I should be getting all the nutrients I need from that food.

People can cut back on the gear.

Must be expensive.

If you can't afford protein or food you can't afford gear.

Anyways buy meat in bulk and freeze it.

Gear is way cheaper than my food bill. Not even 1/5.

hydrolyzed bovine gelatin

OUCHTHATHURTS,

How many hydrolyzed bovine gelatin tabs do you reccomend a day?

i buy food and protein in bulk at sams club. its nice having a deepfreeze.

i like to cap the equivalent supplements found in energy drinks. this saves a lot of cash. you can buy most legal supplements in bulk powder form cheap. bcaas, creatine, almost anything you can think of.
