And if I train for 1+ year doing this and look the same / worse / marginally better?

If you bench 40kg for reps now and get that up to 140kg whilst eating in a surplus and tell me how your shoulders, chest and triceps don’t grow?
Same with squats, get your squat up to 200kg for reps and you can’t not have bigger legs.
There are people who walk into the gym and lift more than you, the reason you haven’t grown is because you’ve given your body no reason to.
