You’re pretty on but trust me combat is relative and although we aren’t running blindly from trench to trench the psychological effects of IEDs an VBIEDs is beyond compare and although the enemy doesn’t shell our FOBs with huge artillery they do shoot and arty pretty much 24/7, there is no easier war it’s all brutal and only the west is expected to play by rules, I’d rather be fighting disciplined Germans in uniform than trying to figure out if the woman walking towards the market is rocking an S vest that’s gonna vaporize me and all my Marines along with all the damn indeg unlucky enough to be around when some shit head clacks one off. Plus a shitty shooter with a Dish can lay down killing fire from well beyond distances of some of the best snipers in WWI, where 200-300 yds was considered amazing now an untrained fucker can hit you from 500 meters so again there’s no harder or easier war. I used to think the Civil War was the worst but you can see where it was simpler and the worst weapon you faced was a cannon ball so again relative. As to police yea they get shit on I’ve watched many shooting break downs and in almost all I would’ve shot sooner they give way too much leeway trying to help criminals out of their own jams.
