I

I'm just researching progesterone, dugging deeper into things besides e2/DHT, do you know any good links or topics to read up? Would they be on excelmale? I don't know any other trt boards. Thanks
There’s some good stuff on Raypeat but you have to dig through some trash.

My advice to you is the following:
1) stay away from ALL anti-estrogens and take cabergoline twice a week to lower prolactin.
2) take 25 mgs of Proviron each morning with breakfast to increase DHT. You might be able back it down to 12.5 mgs daily over time like I have and get the job done.
3) use 200 mgs of test per week for TRT, not 100.
4) take 5 mgs of cialis daily with breakfast along with the proviron.
5) STOP using finastride! It’s a libido killer!!!

NOTE: Once a person has used Tren along with test, they may have to do the above to enjoy sex again!
Do you sugest to split the test in two 100 mg shoots or one shoot ?

There are a plethora of great suggestions here. That is clear and good.

I my opinion.

Get off many of the drugs you are are in in attempt of correct you
libido issues; some are conflicting suggestions and are confusing
and that is okay for now as some perhaps some are good and some
are perhaps are questionable, not so good, but I am no expert here
so get a blood test and work with your doctor to work with you on
this. It may be a long trail and error process so hang in there.

And also may need some counseling to tackle some phycological issues
if they are not chemically related. Again, I don't know. You seem to
have reached a point where the suggest 'meds' are not working as
expected, perhaps even in conflict, are not working so sorting that
out and perhaps some counseling may be needed in the future.

Keep the testosterone in there but at a low dose will perhaps not hurt.

And if you are masturbating and or watching porn, stop. It will, in time,
desensitize you.

The bottom line is that you are unique, just like everybody else.

I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your recovery.

****UPDATE*****

-Currently still on 150mg test e 1x week
-Been off Finasteride 4 months
-ED issues definitely but i can still perform at like 50% which is terrible but could be worse. Sex drive is absolute ZERO, no sex drive at all.Nothing todo with my relationship. I legit feel Asexual.
- Self diagnosed myself with "Anhedonia"
"Anhedonia is the inability to feel pleasure. It's a common symptom of depression as well as other mental health disorders.
Most people understand what pleasure feels like. They expect certain things in life to make them happy. Maybe you enjoy riding your bike, listening to the sounds of the ocean, or holding someone's hand. But some people lose the ability to feel joy. The things that once made them content are no longer fun or enjoyable. That's anhedonia."
- I feel as of the last couple of months i have this. I feel empty, i feel dead inside, nothing make me happy, not freinds, not family, not my gf, nothing i feel no joy. I went on an amazing tropical vacation 5 stars bc i won a law suit with a nice lump some of money, neither did the money or vacation affect my mood. Im not miserable or sad per say just not happy.....I attribute this to being 29 losing a career wich was my choice and have not bounced back since a year ago working a cash job for the 1st time in my life. I had my ED/Sex drive issuies before this but obvisuly this does not help my situation.
-Updated labs as of a few weeks ago
All blood markers normal and in range
Testosterone total 813
Estradiol 44 (Little high but don't think its concerning)
Prolactin 14.7
-Saw an Endocrinologist in NYU in NYC told me everything hormonal looks fine
-Referred me to an NYU Urologist who was the head director of sexual dysfunction program. Knowledgeable nice guy who took his time talking and listening to me. He legit didnt know what to tell me. He said i was very knowledgeable and had my head in the right place he just didnt know. He speculated it was the finasteride as i did and said just maybe time. He told me he had guys on Fin who got off and got back to normal and then had guys who got off of fin and wanted to commit suicide. He told me he felt i was in the middle like 5/10. I asked him name of colleagues that he can think of whom maybe can help, he gave me a list of names of Drs from top universities but the best i could do is email them and hope for a response.

Is there anyone who can help me with this issue?

Between this sex drive issue and this possible "Anhedonia" cant imagine living like this

You can patch the ED issue with trimix.
Only issue is, your interactions will have to be planned or interuppted while you go pin the trimix
At least you'll get full on hard..
While trimix doesn't fix the drive part, at least it addresses the mechanics...
You can at a minimum pretend you're enjoying sex.. or maybe something in your brain will trigger and those pleasure signals will return as you see your wife enjoying the raging hard on.

I'd give some more suggestions wrt chemsex(in a heterosexual context of course.. each his own though) but such discussions are forbidden on this board.

Well I mentioned back originally when you first posted but I feel the Finasteride is doing this. I know many guys that this happened to including myself. It’s called Post Finasteride Syndrome - sexual, mental/emotional and neurological. I know it works for some but it fucked me up. I have seen this before. Glad you are off and Give it time.

Brother,

While your problems probably originate from the use of Finasteride, since you feel the anhedonia and resulting depression, have you seen a psychiatrist?

Your problems may be hormonal in nature, or related to neurotransmitters, or caused by other factors altogether. But whatever the problems may be, have faith that there is ALWAYS a solution out there somewhere. We may not know the way, but there is always a way, given enough time and energy and the will to try.

You could try a nutritional supplement like L-Tyrosine or Mucuna Pruriens to boost your dopamine levels, which often has a positive effect on libido.

If that shows improvement, see a psychiatrist and ask about Bupropion (Wellbutrin), an NDRI (norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor) which often improves people's mood while also having a positive effect on libido. They may try to push you on an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor), but those often have a negative effect on libido for many. Still, they do work for many people in resolving their depression and anxiety issues.

Don't feel any shame or stigma about seeing a psychiatrist. We all need some help from time to time; it doesn't matter who you are or how tough you think you are. Life has a way of humbling us all eventually. But the intelligent man will reach out and get help when he needs it, and thankfully you are doing that right now.

Try the Proviron or Masteron or another DHT, try the L-Tyrosine or Mucuna Pruriens or another supplement, try the Bupropion or another anti-depressant. Definitely use Cialis or Viagra or Melanotan II or PGE-1 or TriMix or whatever you need to use to get an erection. Try whatever you need to try to feel better.

The most important thing is that you keep on trying.

Have faith that the answer is out there, just around the next corner, and that as long as you keep your end of the bargain and keep looking, you will find the answer that you need.

I will pray that God will send you the answers that you need to feel better. Please pray for me as well.

Message me if I can help in any way.

Thank you my friend for this informative post its much appreciated

I forgot to add im supplementing with L-Tyrosine and B-Complex(p5p b6 inside) for the last 3 weeks I don't believe its helping much with my self diagnosed anhedonia. I'm speculating i have a dopamine deficiency thats what i chose those supplements . I have just added in rhodiola extract to see if that helps.

I was a CO at Rikers island one of the most notrious jails in the US ive been face to face with bloods, crips, inmates armed with shanks, insane situations you would not believe, etc and yes i was scared but i always held my own and showed them i didnt fear them even tho sometimes i did,but seeing a psychiatrist terrifys me..i finally had the talk with my girlfriend about my sex drive issue and anhedonia and it was the hardest talk ive ever had. I have an old school mentality with woman an truly and firmly believe the man is the ROCK and i am weak if im having mental problems.

I watch a knowledgeable YouTuber Leo Rex who says good things about Wellbutrin, but like you mention i hear this mental health pros loving throwing SSRIs at you which can kill sex drive which could be even more of a nightmare for me. Ive read and listening to podcast and videos how people take antidepressants and nothing works! They been depressed and mentally ill for decades! On SSRIs, antidepressants, anti psychotics, etc and there lives seem like a nightmare, hell on earth and i don't want that to happen to me.

I feel lost esp after a top Dr at a prestigious hospital literately told me "I don't know what to tell you"

but i will keep trying

I'll second all this and add my own anecdotal evidence.

I took finasteride for a couple years a decade ago. I believe it still haunts me today - wish I never took it. I definitely lost feel and drive. Wife could not care less about my hair fortunately so I'll burn the stuff if I even see it again.

I'm basically ahedonic by nature. I put myself on Wellbutrin first to aid libido and melancholy because I show lots of signs of low dopamine. I recently went to 300mg after a few years of 150 and most of my blase listlessness is gone. Libido a bit up, and orgasm is much more intense.

For what it's worth....

So Wellbutrin has been positive on you’re libido? What about the Anedonia?

Any negative effects

Wellbutrin helped both. The difference is not amazing, but it's there. I used to really dislike waking up to a new day, not so much anymore.

Libido is where I think is acceptable for nearly 52.

No sides at all that I can perceive.

Many hormones, neurotransmitters, and other factors influence libido, but dopamine is key.

And many of us who suffer from depression and libido issues would do well to increase our levels of dopamine.

Part of the reason why testosterone makes us feel good is that it increases the release of dopamine, and also acts as an agonist at the same GABA-A receptors activated by benzodiazepines, making us feel more confident and less anxious.

Of course, as with anything, using too much can be as bad as too little. Finding the right amount for the individual is what is necessary, and that amount may change as we grow older.

Of course libido is terribly complicated, and depends on many factors, but increasing dopamine has certainly helped me and many others.

"Libido is governed primarily by activity in the mesolimbic dopamine pathway (ventral tegmental area and nucleus accumbens).[2] Consequently, dopamine and related trace amines (primarily phenethylamine)[17] that modulate dopamine neurotransmission play a critical role in regulating libido.[2]

Other neurotransmitters, neuropeptides, and sex hormones that affect sex drive by modulating activity in or acting upon this pathway include:

Increasing dopamine may help. Try muca purlins. Anything that raises dopamine will lower prolactin as well. Caber, prami, p5p, mucana, etc
