Hey guys, help me out with my pre show jitters by sharing your funniest backstage / show days stories, be at as a n00b or seasoned competitor… help me take my mind off the nerves and anxiety

- and have fun with it!
i just remembered who that shorter guy was......2x 212 Mr. O, Kevin English.....weird dude.you gotta remember back then the classes were stacked, so just imagine all these classic guys, board shorts guys.
heights and weights and A B C D bullshit. they all had to do BODYBUILDING and that was it., none of those existed.
even the 212 guys had to do the open.
that same show i hung out with Rodney St. Cloud at some bar, and another guy i cant remember his name....was a shorter guy
but just as wide as St. Cloud.....dude never said a word...LOLOL
You mistake nerves for happy excitement, sir!!!!Man seriously, relax. You stress like a virgin before the first time, lol. Do you really think people will keep talking about how you look? Good or bad they talk one day and forget the next. Stop stressing, that’s just life. That’s how the world works. They only talk about you when they see you - once you’re gone, they forget. Realize that, and life gets a lot easier.
LOLOL....i never spoke to her, but seen her alot. i won a show where she was head judge, and never even looked upThe most memorable moment back stage is in 92 when I was applying some oil before going on stage. I heard a dèep voice asking me if I wanted some help with my back. Turn around and it was the guest poser, Bev Francis. Her deep voice surprised me.
if i could give some advice, instead of stories (theres guys here with alot better ones im sure). You mistake nerves for happy excitement, sir!!!!I’m not stressed at all, I’m super psyched!!!
Liking, I’d love to meet you in person someday and shoot the shit- I think we’d get along just fine, my friend.![]()

Excellent advice. I use to always look at the judges right in the eyes.if i could give some advice, instead of stories (theres guys here with alot better ones im sure).
but when you get on stage, pick the head judge (the one in the middle) and just pose for that person.
try your best to smile and dont take your eyes off that judge. its all fun and games until you get on stage.
i mean if you dont care about winning, then fuck it.....but this has worked for me nearly every time.
plus it takes everyone else out of your vision and not looking around on stage.
yes sir!!!!!Excellent advice. I use to always look at the judges right in the eyes.
Idk about funny but biggest regret was bringing spray Pam to oil with per my coaches recommendation. The overspray got on the ground and everyone was slipping around dangerously.
