Dude, NO ONE is excited to step on stage lol
Whether you've competed for the 1st time or the 31st time.
Whether you look good or not so good at all. EVERYONE is in their head. That's the way it is.
Even the most confident of competitors is still trying to get their shit together leading up to the show.

I applaud you for doing this, but you aren't excited, you are anxious. Its a crazy roller coaster of emotions that builds up for a total of 90 seconds on stage. And then its done. Your best bet is to be calm cool and collected. Nothing gets you UP too high or DOWN too low.
You're gonna be fine.

Oh I’m paying for pro tanning. One less variable to mess with.

Man let me tell you from competing for many years as I don’t do anymore. But one thing on your first show I don’t care how much you practice you poses or how you think how good you going to look. Your nerves are going to be so out of whack . When you see everyone in that audience looking at you. You are going to forget everything you practiced, prepped for and how good you even look even if your amazing.your going to feel like you look horrible and they are noticing every mistake or any imperfection you may lack. Trust me it happens to everyone on their first show.

Best advice forget everyone sitting their is looking at you. judging you even if they are not judges.when they get loud and whoohoo you your doing good when they are quit your going to feel horrible . Tanning is the last thing that crowed is looking at

Shit, I don’t know if I ever mentioned this here ever, and in this case it might or might not be relevant- but I used to play and tour with a minor Industrial band back in the 90s - we did get to play some largish (500-1500 people) venues for a few years, and I THRIVED on the attention (lead guitar player)- maybe those old reflexes will kick in here?

Probably not, from what I’m seeing stage time is very short in bodybuilding- but the feeling of all eyes on you is such a rush…. Matti still have it, maybe I don’t. Guess we’ll find out- but it’ll be as fun as skydiving (I’m an adrenaline junkie).

Yea I see your point. But in a band it’s different because all eyes are on the entire band. Plus the music gets people moving and in a different miss set. But when you walk out on a bodybuilding show and it’s just you and everyone is looking at you and your body it’s a whole different game. And it’s a very short time but you see it feels like you been out there for a whole hour lol. But don’t even think about it man. It will only give you more gitters. Just walk out smile keep thinking in your head I’m the best looking competitor out here and they loving it. And you be fine. It really is fun. Just imagine in bodybuilding we have to go out there play a song and flex to the song beat/sound xyz. Now talk about nervous . AND it’s just you on stage at that time no other competitor. Except when you do the line up and go throw the poses. But the night show holly shit
