Sometime i feel a Sharp pain in the left arm.

Like if someone would stab me with a knife in the arm.

What could cause this?

Any sharp pain like that would make me think of some kind of pressure or damage to a nerve. Probably something swollen and pressing on it, if you move a certain way. I once had that in my forearm. Damage to a muscle was pressing on my radial nerve. Sharp pain like that.

Does it feel similar to when you hit your 'funny bone"? A bit like an electrical shock.

Seriously, ask yourself how you pick up 45 pound plates...often we will pick it up with one arm and do a type of one handed upright row then grab it with both hands...I have many times aggravated a muscle where my forearm and bicep meet causing a "stabbing-electrical type of pain...just a thought..........

Pinched nerve. I have one in my upper right side of my back right below the traps. It’s a sharp pain that hits at random and usually always during shrugs. It was real bad for 8 months but is much better now. It’s just swelling of tissue hitting the nerve. Very slow to go away. Eat foods that reduce inflammation. Ice the area where the nerve is being impinged if you can locate it.

Yeah, the neve may be affected as high up as your arm pit area. The nerves all run down from what they call the brachial plexus.
